should of taken AUGER

Went driving around today.. We saw ice at pymie and tamarack.. Stoped at the cochranton dam breast parking lot.. The ice was milky white and looked old.. I took several steps out onto it.. Firm.. So i took a bowling ball sized boulder out and chucked it.. Whack-- still firm.. Third hit before I had water in the indent..Finally broke a hole through it...Approx. 4 in. OF white and black mixed.. The whole lake of tammarac was covered... BY NO MEANS IS THIS ICE CONSIDERED SAFE TO ME, JUST LETTIN YOU KNOW THERE IS SOME ICE. someplaces looked to be 1--1.5 thick.. NW/

Really ? With temps in the 50's do you really think you can get on any lake. It's going to take more than 4 cold nights. Maybe not at all this winter.Sad but true.

There appeared to be about 2" on Wilhelm this morning.  It held my weight, but that was about it.w_w.

If it has fins and gills, I'm there.

We will be out on hard water soon. Lows are all under freezing most low 20's and only a few days are gonna be above freezing for highs, then by mid next week lows in the teen's or single digits it won't take long I'm saying by next weekend at the latest.

The worst day hunting or fishing will always be better then the best day at school or work!

it's gonna be warm for the first half of this week then it's gonna rain.  looks like it will get cold by the weekend but it probably wont be until the following week that we will have decent ice.

2.5-3" on Sugar yesterday afternoon. White near shore, black in the middle.
I didn't step on, just drilled a hole at the launch.
    22* when I went by this morning...if I weighed 1/2 what I do, I'd have called off.
Hope we don't get too much rain Wed/Thurs....or snow Fri/Sat....just need a little more cold.
