Huge 202 5/8" Brookville buck

He'd have been even bigger before AR and HR. What a shame.

Although I support ar, its pretty clear that dude hasnt had just restrictions saving him because i think it safe to say he didnt just become ar legal prior to being harvested this year! lol. He had just been spending time for a few years where hunters with guns aint...or just been extremely lucky..

I also highly doubt he would have been a 5.5 year old spiker dead atop the ridge from starvation this past winter if'n Pgc didnt save the deer herd from themselves. lol

At any rate, thats one helluva buck!

That is one honey and congrats to that young man!!...WF...P.S. I missed one like that in 1993.The deer was never taken and died a natural death.

Awesome antlers, but I'll bet the loins taste the same as my 110 lb Doe.

Makes you wonder how he got that big in that barren wasteland he is lying in. Sure is a dandy. Anyone know if it was public or private posted and if so were they were managing it for themselves. I know my taxidermist would be happy if I shot him, always room for one more.

There are a few 200" floating around this year.  I know of 3 confirmed from last year, one floater.

I know, I was just being a smart azz. The place is actually a posted lease and has nearby farms that have food plots planted to hold and grow bucks.That plus all the private ground along with the cover some of the local reclaimed strip mines have to offer assures some bucks will make it each year.

There is a lot of posted property around that area with some good feed for big bucks to grow. Heard there was another large buck still on hoof there.

IMHO == Pa will NEVER be a big trophy buck state.. NEVER !!!!

And I am basing that on what I have learned over the past 10 years as to just what it takes to make big trophy bucks besides age...

Now thats what I want!

That deer came from Ohio! The soil is better. Big deer like that travel miles for hot does.

I didn't think it was this one but one of the big ones taken from that general area has some issues.

DAUPHIN COUNTY POACHING CASE INVOLVES RECORD-BOOK BUCK



HARRISBURG – A Lancaster County resident was cited for poaching a record-book class buck, according to charges filed by Pennsylvania Game Commission in the court of District Justice William Wenner, in Harrisburg, on Dec. 7.


Wildlife Conservation Officers Mike Doherty of Dauphin County, and John Veylupek, of Lancaster County, filed the charges against Scott M. Garner, 33, of Bainbridge, Lancaster County, who was charged for exceeding the bag limit for antlered deer in a license year by killing a second buck. Under long-standing bag limits, Pennsylvania hunters are limited to one antlered deer per license year.


On Dec. 1, Garner killed a 14-point buck in Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, during the two-week firearms deer season after having killed a five-point buck in archery season on Oct. 31. He re-used and altered his buck tag, originally used on the buck taken on Oct. 31, to tag the second buck illegally harvested on Dec. 1.


For killing the 14-point buck, Garner faces penalties of up to 90 days in jail and an enhanced fine of $6,500 since the size of the deer’s antlers are considered trophy class under Game Commission regulations. He also faces up to three years revocation of his hunting and trapping privileges in Pennsylvania.


Had the 14-point buck been lawfully taken by a hunter, with a Boone & Crockett green-score of 172.5 inches, it would have placed it in the top 25 for typical deer taken with a firearm in Pennsylvania’s All-Time Big Game Records.

Thought I would offer the latest update I have on the Brookville buck for those who might be interested. After the required drying out period the buck was officially measured and after deductions it had a net typical score of 168 6/8 which makes it #39 in the record books if entered as a typical. Measured as a non-typical it has a net score of 193 4/8 making it the #20 buck if entered in that catagory.------------Apparently there is now some difference of opinion on how the offset g4 points were scored and the buck is going to be re-measured which could possibly change the score again.
