Last year's sheds found

So I was putting on a drive for the crew Friday morning when I came upon these.  Found partially buried in wet leaves within 8 feet of each other.  I compared to some known weathered sheds and they have some distinct similarities, but rather well preserved.  I honestly don't think they are this year's considering the tips were buried in dirt.  Very surprised that they were not eaten by rodents.

After a lot of trail cam pic searching, I'm fairly confident that I found their previous owner.  This pic was taken less than 200 yards from where the sheds were found.

Possibly, but not likely.  Most folks I know who use real antlers drill a hole and thread a strip of leather through.  Anyway they really weren't in a very good spot to hunt.  Wide open, old growth woods w/o any mast trees or browse.  And it's private.  Not that it doesn't get trespassers, but that sort doesn't usually announce themselves with the clashing of antlers.  I truly think they were last winter's drops.

you thinking it's the deer in the foreground, the blurry one? I dont' see it, the forks at the end of the antlers are too small on the horns you found. The pix, even though it's blurry, shows wider forks.

It's the buck in the background.  I have other pics of this buck too, but this one was the best.  The shed pic doesn't do them justice.  They have a lot of mass which maybe makes the tines look short.  I held them up to the computer screen in the exact same orientation and the match was near perfect.  Don't believe me?  Then I guess you'll have to come over and see for yourself.

Oh yeah, and I'm pretty sure I shot the blurry buck last year.  Got quite a few pics of him and he was always some degree of blurred.  I was beginning to think he was maybe blurry in real life.

Hunted Monday on Riverhill, across from Monongahela Pa.,and saw nothing. With all the rain last night I went back to the same spot. While setting up in the dark I had to clear some brush that I had just cleared Monday. I also hit my head on some vines which were not there Monday. After sun up I found this 2 feet from my seat. The little guy must have got hung up in the vine and broke it off.
