I guess if you are sneaking off to fish when someone is sick and you might need notice to return, ability to get bars is a good thing. But when I was up in November with the Tuna crew, every time one of them took a break (except Lance, he never took a break-hardcore!), out came the screens and away went the texting thumbs. I go to the SR to get away from all that. Maybe DEC should just develop a fishing App. As to the "this is my spot" metality, institution of rotation in a place like LFZ would go a long way toward ending those problems and might get rid of a lot of lifters, liners, and other less savory types. Or, treat it like the Carmen's and charge 45 bucks a day (Oh, yea, we're all up there to avoid that at the other end.) After a couple of days of the Petting zoo, I was more than willing to trade more fish for less people, and even when Altmar was a******s to elbows, the river below Pineville had lots of open space. Lucky, is the Carmen's like the Connetquot? I went there once(reserved a beat) to see what the deal was on the weekend of a winter opening (Feb. 15th). I'd like to fish Montauk- only problem is it's on LI. Last winter , I helped the Pres. of the TU chapter that has the Carmen's as its baby, catch his first steelhead. I have an open invitation to fish it. That ain't gonna happen, I don't think. By the way, I have 0 apps and I don't text or even have anyone on speed dial. I'm only interested in my 92 yr. old Mom and my snowplowing contracts. Both have made me split the river early. We'll see how the winter goes. According to what I read here, I fit the categories of chump, asshat/clown, snagger, hole hogger , and a general nuisance; besides being flat out ignorant. I'm that in real life, no need to waste the gas to fish that way, too.

Charlie thank you for making me spit hot coffee all over myself...lol...maybe we can start an annual meeting of the****clowns this january at the lfz; it would be a great way to kick off 2012...lmao I fished the connetquot as a child in the month of march... there are definitely some nice trout there but don't think I will do it again as the ride and waiting in line from the early a.m. really wasn't worth it....

I took a peek at RT's favorite alternative site: from Dec 10-11 report: "started out sat mourning getting to the river around 6 in the morning at the lfz and was disgusted to see that it looked like a lit up city at night with all those head lights on the water" you Chumps better order them shirts by the gross...

Loser. I usually leave the lot at 3:30, it's hard to get the picnic table w/pontoons and grill through the woods if it snows. Next weekend, I'm helping to string the Christmas lights around the Church Pool. Can't wait to see how the new 14 footer will throw the size 20's. I tie them on the heaviest hooks I can find, really helps to drag those 3 no. 5's under. I'm so glad I only have to drive from downtown BosNYWash.

You guys are cracking me up. I myself find the LFZ a good place for a novice such as myself to have a good chance at hooking up and honing my skills. It's tougher on the river and a few hook ups help boost morale and keep me amped. I spent so much time standing on the rock at the tail of the church pool this fall, I wouldn't be surprised if I get a property tax bill for it. I guess I will join the chump and****hat crew on this one

It'd be tough to find a set-up in there under that. Very easy to go way over a grand. Maybe RT could get a discount by getting commisions from the shirts and hats. Maybe she'd let us put up CASH on her sign, instead of those inane Spey rhymes. If you have more money than God Come in and buy a 5 yd. long rod, 'Cause soon you'll have a salmon's bod, Rotting under the freakin' sod.

I bought a tfo deer creek 11' #9 switch from her this past summer for 279.... great rod for the money.... I may even use it for high water steel... But yes charlie; those one liners she's got on the board are a little dumb :)

Dime, don't mind me. I like Malinda, she's been alright to me. She's given me materials, a phenomenal deal on a Grey's rod and let me park in front of her store to fish when none of the lots have been plowed. A little too heavy on the Spey only, but to each their own. Just throwing out some more wizeazz comments.... I fished one of those deer creeks- it was FAST. Charlie

Charlie wasn't throwing a silent jab at all buddy :) I don't really go there much at all... I just wanted/needed a #9 switch rod badly and no one around methe had one...I called her on my way up and she confirmed she had it.... 279 was a great price I thought; the rod casts beautifully as well... lifetime guarantee too... the spey's do seem pricey though Rt; december seems tight for me although I may squeeze one trip in but it'll be spur of the moment...
