My wco has trapped 13 bears this summer. 12 in the same location.

I don't know what's she putting in them.  She tags the bears.   She got one over 600 pounds and released it about 40 miles away and she got it again two weeks later.    Caught in state college and released in snowshoe.

Here is one that is limping bad.   It's on my buddy's property.   I don't think she got it.

An unused baitsite for your viewing pleasure.   Hang-on 20 yards away.

They ended up getting the bear.  The pic above was wco moving the trap.   It is a 130 pound female and got hit by a car.  They gave it some antibiotics and sent her on her way.

Took three hours to wake up an get out of there.

Those are some good pictures and looks like your WCO is on the ball. We had a problem with a bear health wise and the WCO dropped off the trap. It was veiwable from the road and my buddy saw the bear climbing on the trap trying to get the bait. The trap was closed more than it was opened. They never did catch it. Thanks for sharing SilverKype.

Yep. She's on the ball. Infact, that capture is out of her district (about 4 miles over her line). The WCO for that district is quite an arse I hear. I've never even seen him and it's one of the highest pressured areas in the county.

I know exactly what your saying. Same in some places I hunt also. As far whats the attraction, I was wondering why so many bears in that area. What do you think has drawn 13 bears to that area.

We got a lot of bears.  It's in a bottom where the wind whirls and two ridges and a mountain side meet.  Dark timber.

Relocating bears 40 mi. is not exactly what I call on the ball. A minimum for the possibility of a relocation is 100 air miles. Any thing less and they will be back very soon. Even distances longer than that can not guarantee that they won't return. 40 mi. is just like giving them a lift to their other favorite blackberry patch that they would have made it to tomorrow anyway.

That aside I appreciate the efforts of the WCO.

Better too far back, than too far forward.

Bear is funny creatures= big ears =little bear-//  little ears = big bear.
They say their ears dont grow much, just the body. If it looks like Mickey Mouse -dont shoot.
