The spawn happened long ago. They spawn once a year. They pair up and you will see the fish crashing in the shallows. You will see tons of carp doing this all at once time. They travel from all parts of the lake each year and come to specific areas on the lake. You won't catch them while they are spawning. You can catch them outside of the areas they are spawning in. They feed heavy before and after the spawn so targetting areas away from the spawning area works well.

    Well thanks,
the carping today was well up and down in multiple ways.
#1 my best friend put my favorite pool and reel up on V stick just for me to see it peel and flip and shoot out into the middle of the river
#2 We hooked into two 36 inch carp give or take
    Definately 15 lb fish.
#3 My 8 lb floro was broken by carp 3 times and my partners as well
#4 Both carp flopped back in before we got my camera phone

Tomorrow well be heading back hopefully I can get some pics some great hardcore fun though in the three hours we hit double digits. I just got back from Walmart with some 10 lb braid and 12 lb floro, my pool that flipped had 12 lb test so we were short suited. It happened within like the first 10 minutes
