Report- August 7 & 8

Well got up Friday  late evening  and the water was still bout 185-same Sat and on Sunday too. If I was one of those float guys and read the same we all did bout the mythical 750  would be urinated. Imagine taking the time, gas money, hotel reservations  and all your stuff up there and hafta walk halfway down the river cause there aint enough water to get over the riffles. If ya aint gonna do it -even with good reason- change the darned reports....
Rained Sat afternoon and a bit today ( Sun) but not enough to do anything just some showers. Changed my downriver expectations quite a bit so didnt even bother down there. Did all the planned yard stuff and went fishin anyhow.
Went to the Pineville area as suggested to try  the new rig out- started on the south side for a while to get used to the roll casting and such and when I could cast  all across to the island went up alongside to the farside  for some Browns -HA HA HA- caught some smallies though. Water was never over my knees the whole time.
Amended the Hermit thing and went out for  late lunch today at an upriver place never to be named. Had an appetizer deep fried platter. Didnt know you could deep fry in  salt. WOW.
Just a few regulars there and they were talking about eating cats. At first it perked my interest cause I thought they were just using the wrong word but NOOOO they were talking bout eating kitty cats. Funny how everyone there but me had apparantly eaten a darned cat at some time in their life and they were all telling stories about it. I must be doing something very wrong or its tougher living up there full time than I had ever possibly imagined.
   Came home a day early.
Got the prefishie early jitters- coupla more weeks and some more water and they will go away.

RT - the good folks in that area are Bob Barker fans, they just take it up a notch beyond his advice to spay & neuter....

If you don't do it already try checking the water release website for advance notice b4 your trips

    WATERLINE

p.s. - I bet those little browns are still there, the pesky bass get in the way..

    Hi Drake-
I had to go up for the yard stuff anyhow. The only thing that woulda stopped me would have been too much rain so I couldnt do that stuff. I had checked on Thursday for the water levels but apparently before that change was made.
Didnt change my plans much as I went fishin anyhow. Hey- also went up to UFZ later Sat and was the only one there. Never saw a fish for the first time. Started raining a bit harder bout an hour after I got there and I bugged out.
Yea,  liked that area- have never fished there for some reason-will be back too.
