Help - what kind of fish is this in the pic?
I am a fishing newbie. Can anyone tell me what type of fish this is? I thought it was a bass, but in all the pics I see the bass all have a dorsal fin in middle of their back. This one is pretty far back toward tail.

Ah, thanks. I didn't think it was a largemouth based on the pics I saw onlyne. I . I guess there are different species.

It's a largemouth. The front, spiny half of the dorsal fin is just folded down.

Gonna spot burn you now bulldog1 that's in erie on the bay front just to the east!!! NOW I KNOW WHERE THE BASS HIDE!!!!!!! =o Anyways that is a largemouth bass. Congrats also

That looks like the river below the dam (Shenango). That tree looks familiar...:)
