OK I'm not letting this die. Speaking of people that should never have been a singer but a super talented writer I'm wtching Neil Young. Thing is he did a half dozen of the best shows I ever went to.

Great music here.. The Tuna boys play some new material.. I'd suggest scrolling down and just look at the talent.. Rory Block is a smokin delta player who lives very close to me and we frequent the same circles. Also notice John Kay.. Yup that Steppenwolf guy.. you'll be surprised, maybe not.. Paul Geramia, another great.. the dude drives a mint 1972 Chevy nova with well over 300,000 miles across ths great land to spread the music.. Enjoy.. download the mp-3 where possible or just watch the show http://www.woodsongs.com/showlist.asp

I took a break from the work detail to sit back and watch Kim Simmonds & Eric Bibb on the big screen.. Awesome , just Awesome.. eric is no slouch and great talent.. There are so many gems on here.. A few I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years.. all the above as mentioned.. Check them all out and these as well.. Ernie Hawkins, Chris Smither, Richie Havens.. what can you say about him except Freedom.. Met him at columbia green college in the 80's.. Geoff Achinson,Larry Campbell,John Hammond .. was able to meet him through Jorma.. The guy is the real deal.. Prof. Louie & Crowmatix.. They are local (woodstock) and the circle is unbroken to "The Band".. Well thats just some of my picks of friends..

I have every SB recording from the entire summer tour.. Sadly after Jer passed , I went to Rat Dog, the Furthur fests, Other Ones, Phil & Friends & the Dead but that was really the end of an era for me.. I do so hear the Vibe is very good these days but to me just not the same.. Have a Blast man and if you every want coppies of any shows just let me know..

I caught Furthur six times so far this year. While I miss Jerry, I have to admit Kadlecik does a heck of a job with his guitar work. HT you should really catch their live act, it will be like falling in love all over again.

better yet, if you are a Jerry head, go see Dark Star Orchestra. They are better now than when JK was there. Jeff Mattson is absolutely amazing. Always closes with a killer JGB tune as well

llp30- I saw NRPS, Kimock and DSO at the Mighty High Mountain Jam in Tuxedo , NY in May. I hate to say this but while I know DSO is a cover band that's exactly what they sounded like, a plain, old cover band. Gotta love NRPS, Nelson, Cage, Falzarano, Penque, and Markowski know how to bring it. So does Kimock, youtube "Tongue and Groove" is awesome. HT, I recorded Weir doing "Deep Elem Blues" with Campbell, Williams and Helm at Vibes this past July on my Flip video, priceless.

Love Falzarano's rhythm guitar work. Weir and Falzarano, doesn't get much better than that. I regret never learning how to play. I'm looking forward to catching Furthur @ MSG in November with my daughter. In fact, she is going out to Red Rocks with her boyfriend for all three shows week after next.

Wa- You forgot another song from the "Dream" album, "Ripplin' Waters." I wore the grooves off that LP back in the mid to late seventies. I also wore the grooves off of all my POCO albums. Would love to see Buffalo Springfield if they ever came to the metropolitan area. I think Furay's voice is better than ever.

HT-Richie Furay Band is playing in Fairfield, CT in November, check out their website, I may make that trip. The other bands that were my staples were The Byrds, Roger McGuinn (always catch his act when he is in the area) Gram Parsons, Flying Burrito Brothers and the short lived Souther, Hillman, Furay Band. Saw them at the Wollman Skating Rink, Central Park at the Schaeffer Music Festival, tickets were $3.50 if I remember correctly. The best Poco show was at Carnegie Hall just before Furay left the group. It was the From the Inside tour. The acoustic set with Paul Cotton's Bad Weather was incredible. I'm so glad I raised my two daughters on the music of my era.

Was this the start of a drum circle and did it feel better after sharing your feeling. I always loved a drum solo on Kumbaya!

Started as 1 drum... 2 thirty packs later it ended with what you see there plus a full drum kit; saxophone; bass guitar and electric guitar... the cops were stopping traffic that day to listen in... fun times

David was so zoned out on that tour S&N just propped him up to the mic and let him strum , which mostly was not what they were playing.. Little Feat WAS awesome until Lowell George left and passed away too soon.. Yea another great done gone wrong.. Have seen them a few times about 5 years ago but now they blow.. Chick singing ?? what’s up with that..

HT and WA, don't know if you like Phish but they did a show at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City 10/31/2010 where they covered the entire "Waiting For Columbus" album with Giovani Hidalgo sitting in. Here is a sample, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lHtcAGuc40&feature=related
