Son joining the ranks... PICS!

My oldest son has ventured into boat ownership. He showed up at my place last night with a 1968 MFG 14' boat with a 1968 65 Horse Johnson 4 cylinder 2 stroke strapped to the back.

We're in the process of rewiring the engine, but other than that this thing is almost showroom condition and I would imagine it will fly with that motor... if we get it running...

I'll post up some pics when I remember to take them...

The two happiest days in a boater's life -- the day he buys a boat and the day he sells the boat.

Boat: A hole in the water where you throw your money.

I wish him well. I hope to venture into boat ownership some day when I have the means...

I'm oddly excited for him, the boat is 43 years old and looks almost new, I'm sure he could make money selling it to one of those nuts that likes antique boats. It is true vintage from trailer to outboard... Hope to get pics to post soon...

Be careful... I resemble that remark!!

2 Lonestar boats '55-'60 vintage... with Mercury motors of matching years...
    a 43y/o starcraft with a 40 y/o merc...

Gotta admit I am a sucker for the personalities those older boats have.
Than again I heat with my Grandma's 100 yr old cast iron stove, so maybe I just like old things!

Really nice! My first boat with a steering wheel was a 15', that had fins on the back like a 57 chevy

My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!
