Naming a boat

Hey folks... we are wanting to put a name on our Erie boat to simplify radio communications and such.

I did a bunch of internet searching and found the only Coast Guard regs on it is if the vessel is over 5 ton, I found absolutely nothing on Pa Fish and Boat...

So, does anyone know of any restrictions through the state? and does anyone know if there is a site that has any type of listings for Lake Erie in particular? I'd like to avoid duplicating another boat in the Erie to Conneaut area, since that is our most common fishing area. I didn't know if there was any web site hosted locally that folks could register their boat names.

We will most likely end up using our pups name in the boat name... Mindy something... but haven't settled on the definite, though we do have a couple in mind. Just wanted to do some more research before getting graphics put on and finding there are 3 others with the same name in the area
Would appreciate any tips/links/advice...

We have used 'Erie Mako' a couple of times, I don't really want it named after my screen name but I kinda liked the simplicity of 'Mindy Lu... or Mindy Mae.... both of which the pup answers to frequently...

She has also been called 'Mindy Mayhem' and 'Mindiana Jones' (when out being adventurous)

Though now I saw the link Marty put up and maybe need to spend some time thinking of names before we decide... because whatever it is, it will stay, since it's bad mojo to change it.

I can just see the pup going crazy everytime someone calls you on the radio. Not that I would do that just to mess with her...

Of course, I'm sure he meant Cannon Balls!

My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!
