line for a baitcaster

I recently purchased an Abu Garcia C3 5500 reel to use for largemouth, cats, smallmouth, and canada pike. I plan on filling it with 20 lb. powerpro or suffix. What amount and brand of main line and backing would you reccomend? I'm just starting off with batcasters, and i'd like to get it right.

I'd think about 75 yards of powerpro would be all that is necessary.  That's what I plan on putting on my Curado 301.

can use anything for backing ...old mono or tape. 20 pound is fine. sucks in the winter tho, no braided line works good. just buy whatever u want thats a good deal i used to use powerpro and use suffix now... dont think it holds any less water tho like it advertises, my hands always wet
