You're right tuna. In my two years on this board I think I might be one of the few others that has posted pics besides you. In all honesty, its hard enough to keep up with the board as it is. Put picture posting on top of that and its just a lot of time. Can't tell ya how many times I've wanted to, but have probably only done so 5 or so times... now take in to consideration a guy like drake who has been shown and told a number of times... sorry frame; had to do it ;)

Funny stuff tuna... I knew I left myself open on that one while I was hitting post :) in all honesty, I do my posting from my phone 99% of the time. Most pics are old and need to be scanned. Otherwise, new pics are taken on my phone which have to be emailed and uploaded; and so on... for some reason this process doesn't fall with the cards too often. I will post my smallmouth pics from this past weekend though. It was on a fire; with a few over 3 lbs....the boy had the time of his life back there to say the least. How many 4 year olds get the oppurtunity to ride a quad back to a river and catch 3+ # smallies. He was ecstatic....with that being said; im sure a picture was painted in your head from my description;)

Here's my weekend of the 4th . A long walk in the mud and mire and jungly terrain of southern Vt.  I wasn't getting shot at. We had a blast, got the specs on dries- a damsel hatch. My wife's alright. She doesn't fish, but winter camped and snowshoed out to the SR this winter. Never missed a day. She looks funny reading books in a snowbank when it's zero out.

    Nice pics charlie...

Ht; its more than just a few buttons for me ;) by the time I load them off my phone and resize and everything; it just doesn't fall in to theplaying hand most times.. wish it did though. As for typing my posts; I barely even push any buttons. My phone has voice annunciation; so I just talk and it types for me...

now take in to consideration a guy like drake who has been shown and told a number of times...

now you are starting to sound like my ex-wife...

    I've tried numerous times.
I do not get that little yellow box when I click image icon. I know how that works and when available you get a separate little window to paste the pic properties. I don;t get that.

    I clicked the image icon.
    I get [image] [/image]
I change [image] [/image] to [img][/img] and still no worky...

I can use the direct upload where FishUSA will pull a pic directly from me puter,
BUTT - it has a size limit of 200KB,
AND I am not about to re-open every one of my pics and re-edit/re-size to be able to post them here.

    WAY TOO MUCH EFFORT...

p.s. - DB - when I come visit DBland in Sept I will provide you an UP CLOSE & PERSONAL look at a Salmon River Steelhead, when I slap it's gutted carcus onto the campfire to prepare my evening meal....

Drake; I never knew nothing about loss of access on riverside.... I did look at properties there about 9 years ago and I know the access was instilled then. I also know it was kinda a numb rush to get the boarded properties as they get tax reductions for owning next to state land. So as far as I know the state owned the right to access from there. If that's gone now; im curious to know why they revoked the public access??????????

fichy those are some awesome photos and again thanks for sharing.. I just dig seeing how folks enjoy what the great outdoors offers to them... That speck looks like a Phatty man.. and they usually fight right to the end.. Great catch.. cool the woman gets out there also.. Mine pretty much cant keep up with me any longer (she used to read while I fished too , even in december :) She totally knew what she was getting into 28 years ago , still here and I'm still out there..
3 years ago I did "conform" a bit and let "her" but a camper.. Must admit it's mighty nice sometimes..

So I hope you all feel the need to share the love out there..

My evening session consisted of trying to clean or at least make room in my garage,, I put a dent but man it's a mess..
I may be getting older but still love the toys and a thrill once in awhile.. Besides the grandkids have a blast..
BTW: the bike is For Sale ..

Yes Please do. Does it fish well ? I'd love to take a trip down the sr in it with ya ..
I put off buying one (single) just because in the back country it's not practical to carry all that weight, they weigh a ton. Hence the boats (8lbs.) & float tubes.. For most easy access I just throw out the canoes or kayak but man I'm all into learning something new like a pontoon..
Gave up on the big fast boats & now let other people endure all that , I'm just a happy rider..

hey tune thanks for the invite i am by no means an expert; i've had it for 4 years now and have floated the river 4 times. i did 1800 cfs in march 3 years ago... i don't prefer it for getting in out of; but with the front platform it has, its great for a dedicated rower with a single fisher on the front platform. i actually dont prefer the wide nose clearance so much... for a layed back small mouth/summer floater with a 6 pack of 16 oz. busch cans from little lukeys for 3.79; it serves the job well. also, it is nearly unflippable... i personally dont prefer to float the river while crowds are around and as you know that is often... i'll be up this weekend to skin some walls with plywood and lay some loft beams down; but would love to take a float for some smallies for a few hours sometime or another... give me a hollar if you're around...if not, i will make an hours effort at least to slam a few from the bank...

p.s. i'm not a numbers guy, but put two guys like you and myself on a 3 hour float down the river this time of year; i imagine our small mouth total would be triple digits once combined

DB, now that is sounding mighty fine man .. I been down those channels often just yakin' and would love to fling a fly to smallies but tell you what.. Hitting the estuary for some toothy critters sounds sweet .. Caught many that pulled the yak around.. Easy access ;) Good times !!

bro in-law just bought a nice lake boat and he is itchin to take out on the big pond.. with the salmon smorgasbord starting to show up we will be there soon.. I have some more salt action going on but if your around in about 3 weeks I'll be in Oswego co. often.

and yes I forget to mention in previous posts about the great warm water fishery up there.. SR Estuary or S.Pond is pretty nice fishing..

nice stuff silverkype... i'm guessing north west washington/olympic penninsula for the summer run????

hey tuna; im up all year long; its funny you mention the toothy critters; i was intendeing on hitting the pond and the estuary this past spawning/post spawning seaon for them (mid to late spring)but didn't get the chance. i've heard it is quite a thrill to entice one on the fly... i will be up through july and august probably atleast 4-5 times. i hope the water doesnt get too warm for the smallmouths anytime soon because id like to slam em a few more times. they are great on the fly, but i do spin fish for them as well due to certain spots i target for them... unfortunately i will be working very hard the next few months when up there;but i can always find time for some fishing...

ps... hammers and tool belts are welcome

Mine came with a wheel that attaches to the bottom of the frame that allows you to pull it like rickshaw. Works pretty well until the path gets too narrow...

LOL, know a thing or two about all that..
a week after my month trip in AZ I came home to water running out my front door & windows, not good..

    This was the carnage:

Three months later almost done :

now took on another project at my son's house , same deal gut the old plaster & lath, new electrical and sheetrock.. 14'X30' room..
As long as I dont have to look at rock I can frame all day long..

Hammers? If I have to hand nail I get paid triple.  I'm a pretty quick (and precise) framer db. I've been a builder/carpenter for 30+ years. All my guns are Paslode. The historic floods have done some real damage to my favorite shoals on the Hudson. It was a good trophy fishery.  I was going to head for the Susquehanna out by Binghamton or the Mohawk by Fort Hunter in August to make up for the depressing habitat destruction on the Hudson, maybe I'll swing by the SR  and rack up some numbers instead. I could bang nails in the middle of the day, fishing sucks in the heat, anyway- might as well work. You'd have to give me a hamburger, though. I'm sure the crayfish pattern that worked on the swing for steelies this winter, will work for what I tied it for....
