Welcome to the boards jhawk, lots of info here to be found... take some time and do searches on older threads for bottomless sources of great info...

But to your question... tell folks what area you would be launching from (ie North East, Presque Isle, Walnut, Conneaut) so info can be more direct. And some info may be via pm, or may not be very specific. But give it time and stick around and participate on the boards and you'll find there are a lot of great folks here who are willing to share.

Check the Fishing Reports page daily. If you read the latest report by Ironhed from 6/17-6/20, it gives you a lot of detail in regards to depth, color selection, lure type....ect. I would try what he suggests! When the Perch turn on like they were around Memorial Day people will spill the beans! Good luck!

Thanks to all for the advice, I sure will share I have been watching this site for a bit now and there is a lot of great info. I plan to launch from walnut, lampe and northeast. I live in Titusville so traveling is part of it. I have heard the "cribs" and the "w's" used frequently, I assume they are formations but I can't locate them on any maps? Thanks again

Jhawk, I think that there is a link to a map showing cribs, etc. on the fisherie.com home page. Look in the left hand column under "angler maps"

I only live 19 miles from Walnut, but still call before every trip to get wave conditions, it helps and may save you on some wasted gas from T-Vil.

    JHAWK:

If you launch from Lampe and you head towards the cribs or the the W's be sure to stay off shore about 1/4 mile. There some rocks prior to the cribs that will eat your lower unit or out drive. They are NOT marked. Good luck and PM me if I can help you with anything. I keep my boat at the Lampe marina.
