Road Trip to NC

Last week, my wife and I decided to go see some friends and relatives in Asheville, NC. The plan was for her to visit her sister, who just had twins, while I met a friend in TN to fish the cicada hatch. Just before we arrived, some family obligations tied up my friend in TN, so I decided to stay in NC and fish in the Pisgah National Forest. Armed with a new camera and a fly rod, I did some exporing....

A few browns from Pisgah:

A friend suggested we try to catch some bluegills from a nearby pond. He said he knew where there's a pond full of big gills, and bass. Said he never fished it, but noticed the fish on his morning bike ride. I agreed to go, not knowing he was dragging me to a pond next to a country club in the wealthy part of town. It was said that Andie Macdowell (from Groundhog Day, and some makeup commercials) lives in of the homes overlooking the pond. We had a blast catching their fish.

Carrying a chest pack full of beer can be tiring. Luckily, I made a friend who was happy to help. After this photo, we moved him to the other side of the road he was crossing. I hate seeing turtles on the road.

On the way home, my wife and I decided to spend some time in WV.

I think the photos should be in the South Central forum because they exhibit too much ego here.

Yeah I noticed that. I had my bachelor party in fayetteville. We fished the new river for several days and drove back and forth on rt 19 going from where we camped to where we fished. I don't think we got on 19 one time without seeing a someone pulled over.

Nikon D3100. It's not the highest end camera, but at this point it's much better than it's user.
