Shout Out

Hey there fellow SR guys! Sorry to have been away, but things have been very busy in Salmo land. This Spring was Tee Ball for my youngest and 1st year of softball for my daughter. Lots of back yard time and I'm proud to say they can catch and hit a little better now. Work is very busy too. Way too much overtime and no end in sight.                                                                                                                    I didn't and probably won't even get to fish sulphurs this year. Pretty bummed about that.                   Just got cortazone in the right elbow yesterday. Wanted straight to surgery but the doc wanted to try this. After the ordeal with my fishing arm I really didn't want it. Just added misery.                                  It won't be long now. Before we know it the runs will be happening. Had to use a bunch of vacation already so I'm hoping work will get slow and have some voluntary layoffs so I can get up there more this year. Still daydreaming about my big day @ DSR last Fall. Even though they all broke me off in the fast water above it was an amazing morning of fishing.                                                                     Maybe this year I will get a Coho landed. Would be nice to break my Steel funk too. It's tough when you only get a couple shots a year. I've already got all new fly lines & am ready to rock and roll. Hope for an Aug. trip to start the ball rolling. I like not being cold up there, but the flip side is we need those cool water temps too for the fishes.                                                                                                  Some of you I haven't seen much of here- welcome aboard to you. Great bunch of anglers aboard. Allot of help, nice guys & even a little stirring the pot. I would like to see some pics.. Post anything up. There's more to life than the SR. I'll try to post some things up from around here when I get a chance.          Tuna- great Brookie outing pics.. Man- that's beautiful. Are those fish all wild? I'm guessing so. You got me trumped there but I enjoy my little Spring creeks too. We have a few local lakes but mostly warm water.  Everyone let me know how you're doing now.                                                                            Maybe we should try a fly swap for Salmon or something? If you guys want I can/will handle the business end of it. Maybe a streamer thing? Would be plenty of time to get em' done for the late Summer fishing. Gotta get to bed. Wakeup time in 7 hours. Yawn.

    Nice to hear from you-
I remember those couple of trips a year days. Spent more time planning and shopping for gear that i did actually fishing.
There may be more to life than the SR but I havent discovered it yet- unless its deer and turkey  hunting.

Good to hear from ya salmo. Fly swap sounds awesome. If I get a chance i'll post some pics from the region from this past weekend. My kids had a blast fishing and playing. The weather was great also. In reality this site is specific for eastern lake ontario out to the genesee... there's plenty of water and species within those limits; I would love to see more folks posting pics and thoughts from the entire region. Come on you smallmouth, walleye and brown trout guys out there, show us what you're catching; because I know you're catching them :)

I wouldn't get too carried away thinking I only like little dries just because of the water I fish. 2 footers don't sip dries around my parts & I doubt many of the stories in books that tell of leviathans doing so in the old days.
I'll get my fishing in guys. If nothing else I can daydream about it when I can't.
Drake- the suck's got no soul anymore man.
Spot burners from PA, self professed master anglers, banditos and western idiots who think they can fish just because they live in the land of big dumb trout that will eat anything. Let us not forget the crew who comes up with a new sculpin every week on a 3/0 hook, only thing different is the color of magic marker they use on the newest "invention". What a joke.
Not complaining (much) about work- good funds rolling in with the OT. Too bad I already have more fishing gear than most fly shops.
I don't have many pictures from up that way. Pretty sure I've posted what I got over the years.

Swap sounds good. I tie up some of my Big Flies.

Hey Salmo.. good to hear from ya and when the heck you gonna get over elbow problem.. just man up and fish for jeepers sake (lol).. While not quite you pain.. I had a bad case of tendonitis in my casting elbow last July and lasted right through April.. Had to resort a lot to a 2 handed rod which helped big time in casting without pain.. Problem was when a fish struck, so did the sharp pain.. I mean tears to my eyes.. Ya know what though , somehow I think they were tears of joy.. Well I got over it and am casting my single good as new..

Pictures You say ? What have I been up too ?

I just rolled in from 6 nights (whew I do smell bad) at a place as Cold As A Mountain Stream :) The real God's country.. Tear Of The Clouds..
So I know your not all concerned about where, what,or how people are fishing this time of year.. It's the Fish Porn that counts and see whats happenin'.. Ya darn sure know I'm fishing :) And will post plenty of them :)

In Reality, it all started here long ago.. Reality Bites !! LMAO

sorry i'm a little low on blood.. the black flies, skeeters & no-see-ums drained me good

Six days! Yeah man! I've never been to the Adirondack's. Guessing that's the playground? I'd like to go see where Sparse Grey Hackle fished but those Brookie ponds sound fun too. Sounds like you need to carry a couple extra pints of whole blood in the cooler!
Pics would be nice. I got nothing you guys wanna see.
