Dan Craft 10' 3WT Fly to Pin Conversion

Its been awhile since I have posted a rod here, just wanted to share with you some of the stuff I have currently been working on.

This inquiry came from a guy from NY who wanted to pin for trout.  He chose a Dan Craft 10' 3WT FT1003-4 4 piece blank to fit the bill.

Reel seat and fighting butt are custom turned spalted maple, Forecast RA-7 Shiny Gunsmoke reelseat hardware
Handle is custom turned brown burl block
Stripping guides are Fuji TSYG (16-12-10)
Running Guides are REC 8 tapering to 8L's with an 8L main guide tied in as the tip for smooth line flow.
Winding Check is a forecast AWCCO model
Thread is pro-wrap to match the Milner River Wraithe reel that the customer fitted to this rod.

Enjoy!

    God job dude, nice looking.

My question is why would anyone want to pin fish for trout? They are too easy to catch as it is.

    I don't know, I don't ask questions.

Yes it is.  In the photo before it is turned it is shined up on one side so you can see the grain.

That is a very nice looking rod.  I don't get the CP thing but you did that rod right.

    Very very nice.

Yes, it is.  The fighting butt was drilled to accept the butt section of the blank as well.  There is no protrusion (off the blank) other than the composite cork ball at the end, about .5 inches.
