one of the best days of my life

So every once in awhile you get those days where everything goes right. Yes, the weather was good, the fishing was good, but when you combine that with a great family day, and the FIRST TIME TAKING OUR KIDS FISHING, you get near perfection. So grateful to God for this day, and glad to share it with yinz...

Ive been waiting for the right time to take our children fishing for the first time. I wanted it to be at a pond where the catching would be a bit easier. Ya know, catch a few sunfish or gills, maybe a bass, get the kids hooked. Thankfully, thats exactly what happened. My kids are still very young. My daughter is 4 and my son is 2. But its killed me to wait this long! So i figured, lets go for it.



So kids, here are some worms (dont worry ill teach them to flyfish someday:). They eventually both held a worm! My daughter had no fear!




Getting everything ready, and the kids are excited and curious!

Mommy (7 months pregnant) likes to fish too-yes!!!

She's excited! I think she likes fishing...




Starting the tradition...



And loving every minute of it. So grateful for this day.

    Great post!  Those memories don't fade...for anybody. 
     
    Got out with my dad for a few hours last night....really enjoyed myself and I think he did too.  Reminded myself never to take it for granted.
     
    Was catching carp on rooster tails all night!  That is different for me but fun too...

    Thats awesome, nothing better than those kinds of expriences w/your kids.
    This is not the 1st of my daughter fishing, but pretty close. I love this pic. She's 7 now and won the kids derby in my area two years in a row !

    those are great photos i started my son when he was about 1 1/2 - 2 and now he is 5 and as soon as he sees me getting the rods or i say i am going to get the boat ready he is super excited.  i took him on the ice this past season and he love it and had a blast using an ice rod cause they are small.  this is what it is all about and it is nice to see you sharing our wonderful sport with the next generation.  Congrats with the new one on the way and keep fishing

    For us older viewers, it brings back great memories. Luckily, I get to start them again with my grandson, he's almost 3 and already has felt the tug on the line....WF....Thanks a huge amount for the pictures you have shared.

    I remember those days with my daughter and niece,now they're in their 40's and don't fish anymore.But I do get my grand daughter out and she brings back those great memories.
    Get all those days you can dad,because they go by quickly!

    Those are great pics! Savor those days! My kids are a lil older (10 & 15), but they still talk about the days we went fishing and continue to look forward to it.
