I have never fished a tournament like this before but just talked to my buddy and we are going to give it a shot.  Sounds like it will be good time regardless of how we place.  Can't wait!

    Egg sac,
Any clue what the winners came in with?  How do they do it, biggest five or something?  There's some huge crappies in that lake.  We've caught a few 17 inchers the past two years, and tons of fish over 14.  Do you guys think crappies are like walleye, meaning schooling up by size?

    startinout,

In my experiances it seems most times that when you find a school of Crappies most will be in the same size range. An example would be you get into a school of say 9-10 inchers most will be around same size with a few throwbacks and a few slabs in the mix. This is usualy the case but it can variey from time to time. For the Crappie round up its your top 5 fish entered that is your total for wieght. Make sure you only take up 5 to the weigh in though. I had a tuff day last year for the Crappie round up as the boat I was in was a canoe and we were only able to fish the bays as the lake was a bit to ruff to go out in with that small a boat. Worst part was they were having a bass tourney as well and they had zero respect of the boat laws in the bays and messed our fishing up big time.

egg sac,  Do you think the crappies will move far away form the shallows, with this cold snap ? I know a lot of good spots when they are in close. But with this freakish weather we are having I don't have a clue. I would like to take my Children up on sat. Any info. would be helpful

the north end is by far the best for crappie.
try bays protected by islands or points in shallow water.(4-6 ft using minnows or little spinners)

Just got back from doing some gill fishing and did real good. Even found a few Crappies close to shore.

Has anyone fished North of the Causway today?  Did you get any eyes??  Check out  www.ohiofishingsource.com for Ohio fishing eports, river flows, photo gallery, etc.  Any fishing reports from Pymy would help the site...  Thanks

By the way all proceeds from the Lake association round-ups go to the habit fund.
