Annual Delaware River Striper Trip- 51 lb fish

Thought I'd share a huge near state record fish. This was landed by my best friend and fishing buddy of over 15 years...he's out there every day in the spring chasing these fish, was thrilled to net it for him. 46", 51 lbs, just shy of state record numbers. I landed a 40", 30 lb fish, my personal best, and my nephew landed a 37", 23 lb fish, this was all in just 2 days of fishing. Here is a public gallery with all the pics.

It's not how deep you fish...It's how you wiggle your worm.

Nice. Stripers are a blast. Good on the grill too. My Bro lucked into a 40 lb in the Maine surf last summer. Imagine Stripers instead of walleye in Lake Erie.

No its open. 2 fish per day slot limit 20-26". Everything else goes back. A few for the grill is nice but fish like this and 60 fish days are why we are fishing for them.

Never caught a Striper! Tried on our own at Raystown once. I am impressed just with the hybrid Striper's fight, so I couldn't imagine the fight of THE Striper.

My Wife said, if I go fish'n one more time, she'll leave me! God, I'm going to miss her!

Nice pics Joe, looks like a good time for all. JEB, let me know how you do at Raystown. I bet lakers at hitting well about now.

If I would have asked what everyone wanted, they would have responded that they wanted a better horse....Henry Ford
