Lake Wilhelm

While I'm not sure where this post belongs...I know it aint here...but this also gets more traffic...hope Ironhead lets it stay a minute.

Me and a few duuds from Team Snagr are planning a weekend trip to Lake Wilhelm. I'm looking for fishing input...we will be after bass, pike, muskie...etc. We will have canoes and be wading. Is one end of the lake better than another?

We are also looking to camp...can we set up in the park...or does it have to be a dedicated campground? Any recommendations on a "less popular" campsite? Any to stay away from? We dont need electric or running water.

Thanks in advance...

Slick

    When you going?

Two campgrounds....Camp Wilhelm located on Lake Road heading into Sheakleyville and the KOA which is on the other side of the lake.

If you are going earlier in the year, I'd focus on the north end of the lake and you'll get into bass. I wouldn't hold my breath for any pike, don't know when the last time I heard of someone catching one out of there. Musky, they are bound to be anywhere but since you'll have canoes, i'd still focus on the north end in the stumps. If you take lighter gear or a fly rod, you can get into some good panfishing up at that end in May and early June.

Stayed at the KOA once, wasn't bad. I was about Dustin's age though so something may have changed between then and now...
