Allegheny river

Are we ever going to be able to fish? Come on Mother Nature, Enough is enough! Waiting for the water to come down a little so we can go after some eyes and bass.

The wind is blowing so hard upstream today on the Allegheny the walleyes are stacking up above the dams.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The closer we adhere to the Holy Bible and the US Constitution (as it was written) the closer we get to the model that made America great. The great American experiment worked, human nature just got in the way.

This is obviously rumor making, but from what ive heard the water level in kinzua wont be normal until around memorial day. but again, thats like third or fourth hand information.

in other words, its not looking good.

I fished the mon for a few hours last night its pretty high and muddy. I casted and my lure caught my line and snapped off and in the mean while the top part of my rod flew off into the river. It will be MIA for awhile lol

The river hit the magical fifty five degree mark yesterday. Should be below fourteen feet by Monday night. Is fourteen still too high? Will normal shore fishing spots be accessible at that level? Or is that still too high?

I have 4 6 8 and 10 oz sinkers and I'm not afraid to use them, just need a place to stand and cast. Will be targeting catfish and possibly smallies

Answered my own question. Lock 3 gauge was at 12.25 ft Monday night and that's still real high. 11 and below is a lot more fishable. Still felt good to get out even though we got the skunk. Used live gills and chubs cut gills chubs and trout. Had two hits on cut bait and no fish. 4 oz. Did the trick.

High water can be some of the best fishing, or should I say catching. This is really the case at creek mouths.
