7mm SAUM

A few years ago, on a gun raffle ticket, we won a Remington Model 7 7mm SAUM (short action ultra magnum). Its a very nice gun, was include with a Leupold scope 3x9 scope, but we've never shot it yet and we can't find ammo for it, its just sittin in the gun sock that was also included down in the gun cabinet collecting dust, was just wonderin what stores that you fellas know of that might sell it in the Pittsburgh area, Cabelas didn't even have them on stock in Wheeling. We also won a 300 Weatherby Magnum, but ammo for it is $45 and i was hopin to also find cheaper ammo for it, the actual win was a Weatherby 30-378, ammo for it was $80-90 for a box of 20 !!!, but we traded it in for the smaller 300 and a $50 coupon for anything in the store. Just can't find ammo anywhere for the 7mm.

Or try Gander or Ace in Washington
Might want to wait for a gun show to get a better price.

For the 300 mag, you can buy Actuall Weatherby ammo and pay out the nose or you can buy Remington.  I think those are the only two brands Ive seen available but with the rising price of ammo I wouldnt doubt that 50 dollas is gonna be close to a good price.

For the 7mm its 31.99 a box on the cabelas web sight item number hx-213574

Hell Im paying 25 dollars a box for remington 280 ammo now.  It might be time to just get a 30-06 so I can atleast by cheap ammo. I dont have that much time to reload any more since my kids ruined my life and suck ever second out of evey day.

Good luck.  The SAUM never caught on.  Remington will always load for it but it will be expensive.  You will have to mail order for the best selection and pay shipping.

Tough gun to get rid of too because the caliber is a tough sell these days as the WSM get all the glory and rightly so as Winchester beat Remington to the punch and did a better job of marketing.

Believe it or not but i found a box today at Dicks in Washington for $5.95 !, didn't hesitate in buying it, it was the 1 and only they had, it was cheap i guess because a 300 Saum was mistakenly added, what a gun, can't belive it isn't a good seller, very accurate, good range as far as i could shoot in the field i was at, not too bad of a kick, i'm honestly in love with it and maybe i'll take it out for a doe this rifle season if my dad lets me since its his.

Wish I had your phone number, I was coming back from WV hunting today and stopped at Cabelas.  And their in the bargain bin for $15.99 was a set of RCBS FL Dies for the 7mm saum.  thought about you dude, really I did.

****, thats cheap, like i said its a really nice shooting gun, but just can't find ammo anywhere and ACE in Washington is probably askin for my arm or leg price wise.

I would go to an independant dealer and see if they will order it for you. That way get the bullet weight you want etc...Maybe they want cash up front for something like that but you could get your ammo without shipping charges.

If I agreed with you we would both be wrong
