Trip to Penns Creek

Hey, a buddy and I will be heading out from the Pittsburgh area (Turtle Creek) on Tusday morning 4/12 to fish Penns Creek in Center county. We will be leaving really early (4:30-5:00 am) and will drive back after dark.

We plan on fishing the C&R section around the Cherry Run area. With warmer temps this weekend, by Tues. the BWOs should be popping off like crazy, and there is a really good chance of seeing some Quill Gordans, and some Blue Quills. And even if those hatches don't happen nymphing should be productive.

The reason for this post is that we have room for one more guy who would like to share the cost of gas and join us. It will be a long day, but likly will be more than worth it IMO. So If you are up for the trip and are willing to meet us in Turtle creek early on Tuesday morning drop me PM and we'll talk. I really only have room for one guy so let me know soon.

I'm heading to Penns for 4 days in the middle of May. It'll be too early for Green Drakes, but I expect to have a good time fishing hatches of Gray fox, March Browns, and possibly Sulphers.

I'm planning on staying at Poe Paddy State Park and fishing the C&R area and above.

If anybody has any info or in-put I'd be happy to hear it.

poe paddy is a nice camping area but i haven't been there since the eighties.  penns creek is beautiful and i did well there on sulphers. elk creek dumps into penns at milhiem. it is a small creek and often underfished but it was my favorite when i lived in the area.
