I don't believe it

I caught another palomino today in the same area I caught one of Sunday.  The best news actually comes from Monday.  I took my 10 year old daughter out trout fishing after school.  She caught 5-6 little stockies before her mother picked her up for girl scouts.  My daughter begged and begged to stay and fish.  Dad, of course, had mixed feelings about the debate but agreed with the wife and my daughter was off to scouts.  Dad still had a big smile on his face that fishing was even being debated.

Congrats on another nice fish! And it is pretty cool that she argued about wanting to stay to fish, though I can understand the importance of her scouting also. Glad she got out with you for a while too!

From the father's perspective, you made the right choice. Fishing is for a lifetime, Scouts has a fuse. And one of the great things learned in Scouting is prioritization- a lifetime skill.
Besides, always leave 'em wanting more!
Good work, and nice Chernobyl Rainbow.

Go to the PFBC website and click on the 2011 stocking schedule and select Franklin County. I've located six more Palomino trout but the others have not been willing to take the bait. I've also noticed over the years it seems most of the Palomino trout are stocked prior to opening day. I never find many additional fish stocked during season. Just my observation. Good luck.

Nice fish. Good to see that you are spending time with your daughter. Also, being a member of the girl scouts in my opinion is a good thing. Many moons ago, I was both a cub and then a boy scout.  Many fond memories and life lessons learned. My four children were all active in scouting.

How did the person who invented the first clock know what time it was?

...and from the husbands' perspective, you made the ONLY choice- if you even had a choice!

There's a hole on a stream I fish in Crawford County that has 10 of those "markers" ready to get taken for opening day. In fact that same hole had 8 swimming around in it, and by the time opening day rolled around 6 of them had been poached.

All PFBC Pali's are stocked pre-season only, no inseason stockings unless it's from a private club.

It's  not nice you eastern guys get a two week jump on us western guys...... Ha Ha

They should eliminate opening day and just stock year round minus the summer..........

Also, if you released the fish on Sunday, good chance it was the same one.

palominos are pretty much sterile from what i was told same thing goes with those blue trout. I could be wrong tho.  Nice fish tho and congrats. Alot of places are avoiding stocking those "marker" fish because of the poaching. I enjoy seeing a child catch one but its ashame when  someone whose 28+ in age walks in on top of a couple kids trying to catch one just to snag it in the tail. witnessed that and thought everyone in the hole was going to drown the guy!
