The best thing to do to get fish on top is stay till dark. After everyone departed from the one fly last year (early), I stayed till dark and hit close to a dozen fish on top. Not a soul around.

The Lord has blessed us all today... It's just that he has been particularly good to me.

eyeassassin. Just show up with waders, vest and license. If I make it up (health permitting) I will have everything else you will need to try flea flashing. I never leave home without a few flies, or is that lies? Which one doesn't have the indians?

Count me,my wife and son in at this point.
I'm trying to learn the"art of the fly'this year,and my boy will be lucky to see any time w/the rod n reel I have(only have a hand-me down for myself).If someone can provide a stick and instruction that would be great.
I'm more than willing to help with cooking duty(I can guarantee that I can cookSome seriousley good stuff)
We are committed 2 dozen deviled eggs.

So...it appears Sunday, May 15th is the best date to have the picnic.
We usually break for lunch around noon. Please bring a dish.

I would like to suggest to those that are fishing Oil Creek both Saturday AND Sunday
to speak up and maybe meet up with those that can only fish on Saturday.
In class reunion terms, the day before the outing could be called the icebreaker, haha.
This is a great time to meet new fishin' buddies.

I thought Doug was a gonner last year at the One Fly, if it wasnt for his rod tip sticking out of that swamp, he may still be laying in that mud.

Here are a few sugestions: burgers, dogs, buns, shrimp, pizza, wings,

id like to fish the whole weekend is this a state park area? is there a camp ground?  or where is everyone whose doing both days staying? never fished oil creek so just want to get my thoughts together before heading into the unknown

there is oil creek state park campground and if everything is on a normal yerar u can expect sulfurs size 12 & 14 , tan caddis , bright green caddis etc just depends on water temps i guess

Drove over it today and as expected it was blown out. Stopped at Oil Creek Outfitters on the way home, grannoms haven't started yet. The water needs to come down alot for it to fish. The rain in this next week should keep it high and murky.
