Helped stock the DHALO section Monday, Tuesday morning I hit it at sunrise. Early on the bite was on egg patterns but quickly changed to bugs. Ended up with about 25, nothing real big. The creek is up now and muddy.

Ive fished the past three days, its not as bad as JT83 made it out to be, use egg patterns that will stick out in a aqua green color, its not muddy at all.

we hit the creek this morning we fished a combination of eggs and bugs . we had more success on eggs but we did catch a few on black stones and hairs ears, nothing big but it was better than sitting in the house

I beg to differ, The project starts at the confluenece of little buffalo and buffalo creek. The cement bridge on morrow rd is .75 miles downstream of the confluence.

No your wrong delayed harvest starts at the railroad trussel, where little buffalo flows in, not .75 above the morrow road bridge. that rainbow better still be in there JT83

Seven mile wins. The confluence of L. Buffalo and Buffalo is downstream from that bridge at the railroad tressle. Check your maps guys.

Just checked the map, not to argue but morrow road is the cement bridge with pull offs on both sides and the field that borders the creek, its in a little valley almost. The bridge above that is also a cement bridge and is above the confluence of little buffalo. Thats not the one i'm talking of.

Fenelton road is the road with the bridge above little buffalo.

.75 miles above Morrow road bridge (which is the "new" bridge), the train tressle, and the confluence with little buffalo are ALL THE SAME SPOT. Why had the 18 1/2" better still be there? That fish could be in Craigsville now for all I know. FYI that rainbow was NOT the biggest fish stocked, theres a bigger one by a few inches downstream

Well nobody has seen it. And the Morrow Road Bridge is not the "New Bridge" but anyway, just seemed like you were boasting that you took it out.

I didnt say a single word about taking it out, I said it was caught and measured. There are these nice little retractable tape measurers sold at about every fishing shop around. As for not seeing it anymore, I dont know what to tell you, maybe its in the big hole.

Any metal heads out their have some advice as far as spinning tackle for buffalo.. im a buddy of 7miles and was the other kid who put up 25 of the 45 on the first day.. but we use mainly panther martins, trout magnets, some rooster tails, or aglia ones. any unique baits or brands that anyone has done well on cause im about to make another run to the store and get som "go-to" spinners for the season and wanted to know if anyone knew of anything i hadn't heard of yet
    -thanks

fished buffalo del.hav.yesterday, fish were scarce, water low and clear..caught 3 rainbows on matukas. talked with guy said 20 people have been caught poaching, my opinion, should not let spinning fisherman fish in delayed harvest, they are throwing big trebble hooks compared to small single hooks on flies, they want to fish early, let the fish commission give them a stream all to themselves..while fishing below one bridge, too youngens came stomping in and started throwing lures at our feet and crossing our lines, just plain ignorant, not saying all are ingorant, but these two needed to go swimming...probable tick a few of you guys off, but would rather have a size 18 hook in your finger or a 6 trebble hook?????...these trout that are hooked become very spooky after being hooked afew times and might die..Buy a fly rod and learn how to use it..more fun..and takes more skill...

I am not trying to start a fight here but last time i checked the Delayed Harvest said artificials only, so that would include spinners of any sort. If they had a problem with the hook size then they would specify it in the rules which they dont. The problem is that these fly fishermen think that they own the stream when in reality it is used for public recreation. i spinner fish this stream and i am in my late teenage years myself and most of the time you get dirty looks from fly fishermen because they look down upon you because your a spinner fisherman. What they dont realize is we are just as talented as them and it takes just as much skill if not even more skill then floating a nymph with a bobber, as far as im concerned they could go bluegill fishing and have the same rush. Just to add, 270wbmag, you were that kid once too trying to hook in to trout when you were younger. Just remember that.

first off 270mag just gave an opinion what he thinks and why.
he was not saying spin fishermen can't fish there.

next if you think that a spin fishermen is more skillfull than a fly guy for trout you have never been fly fishing to know any better. it takes more skill just to learn how to cast a fly rod and fly properly than to throw a gadget from a spinning rod!!
i was a teenager too and used a spinning rod so i've done both.

glad to see you feel so highly of yourself. confidence catches more fish than dumb luck!!
