PIKE/MUSKY REGULATIONS
I have a question regarding the Inland water musky/pike regulation. The way I interpret it you may keep 4 fish between 18-24", or 2 fish between 24-40", or one fish greater than 40". Is this the correct interpretation. http://www.fishandboat.com/fishpub/summary/inland.html

DJ, the way I read it is that you can keep Musky or tiger musky -min 40"- 1 Pickerel- min 18"- 4 Northern Pike- 24"- 2 ** Except those species in waters listed in the Brood Stock Lakes Program. Tiger muskellunge is a muskellunge hybrid. It is sort of misleading because the season is 'open year round' for all 3 so it makes it look like they are sort of lumped together. -all 3 are listed with the ** which I copied above, so any lake that is Brood Stock may have different regulations in effect, and they should be noted somewhere else on the FC website or at the launch ramp of the lake. That is just my take on it, but I can see how it could easily be confused. I'm sure someone will chime in if I am wrong...  I see AA beat me by a second! LOL

Avid and lady are right. Your interpretation may cause you to have to interpret another PFBC document.

I might be looking at this wrong, i read it as you may keep
4 pickerel each day
2 pike each day
1 muskie each day
however
if you keep a muskie, you can only keep one pike. I think that is what the combined species mean after the numer limit. Correct me if i am wrong.

I think they mean 1 musky or 1 tiger musky, so 1 musky, 2 pike and 4 pickerel, 
Eat what you catch,troll for cows.

The combined species is what throws you. Why would it say combined species for pike? Only species is a Northern, unless you count Tiger Musky, and then that changes the perspective (meaning you can keep 2 tigers over 24", or one pike over 40").
They should have made the season column individually if they wanted each species separated on the slot limit.

If you look closer you'll see that it clearly says to let the musky go to be caught another day

I haven't kept a single fish for the last 3 years, so I wanted a pike for the table! Hence the question.
Musky go back, they reproduce too slowly, and tigers not all.

Sounds like a plan. I am C&R on everything I catch. I just enjoy getting out fishing. Did pretty good on Pike last fall @ Conneaut Lake. Good Luck!

Are there stil Amur Pike in Glendale Lake?
"This species was introduced to Glendale Lake, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, by the Pennsylvania Fish Commission in 1968. Pure Amur pike were last spawned in 1971. All of the Pennsylvania Fish Commission's brood stock was lost in the summer of 1976."
