Yea, "if" the seaweed died out a good bit (that is if fishing from shore).

No not saying that at all, i just know that they had a "severe" problem with seeweed in the lake. Haven't been there since last year, but i know when i was there it was horendous & virtually unfishable from the shore. And i do recall seeing other posts on here concerning dunlap & the seeweed problem, so it's just not that it was a problem last year, it's been a problem from what i understand. I may be wrong but i even thought i read somewhere where they were thinking about draining the lake down in order to kill off some of the seeweed (somewhat like they did at virgin run).

water was drawn down at both Dunlap and Virgin run in the fall. Should be a lot better fishing in the early spring. Boat fishing is great in the deeper water by the dams.

they're actually starting to refill the lake. I belive they stocked the 1st week of Feb. I haven't been there this past week but I dont't think you can get a boat in right now due to water level unless its came up alot this week. Shore guys have been doing pretty well right now. My dad has caught 28 in the past 2 weeks on of all things those stupid white power eggs! Caught 2 or 3 golds and one 19in rainbow. Good Luck! I think you'll like the lake alot. Capt. Als bait is open limited hours if you need anything. He also runs the Co'Op that helps stock the lake with some bruisers up to 25in every year.
