Lake Oneida

I will be staying with some friends on Lake Oneida next weekend (near Cleveland, NY). I have a few hours on Saturday morning to do a little ice fishing. Are there any spots that are worth a try on the north end of the lake near Cleveland? Also, are there any bait shops around there? Thanks.

I've got about 3 or 4 hours to fish on Saturday morning, so I don't want to go too far from Cleveland. I wouldn't mind just getting onto some biting fish, I don't care what they are. I'm not keeping anything. I have a vexilar, so any suggestions on depths, etc. would be helpful. Thanks.

there is a boat house/ restaurant in constantia just before the gas station on the left. Go about back and park. there is a little harbor in back if you stay left or stay right of the harbor you can follow the trails to the lake. If you pack light you will be in good shape because no mater where you go you want to fish 25-30 feet and it is a good walk out to that depth. there was alot of snow and slush 2 weekends ago  might have tightened up. If not you might see people fishing in closer. I saw people with snow shoes walking around last time but we had a snowmobile to get out there. We did good on size 3 jigging raps tipped with a half minow. glow colors worked good. For more onieda lake  reports look on http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?board=16.0  there is an onieda lake bs thread and there might be some helpfull info of just bs havent looked at it in a few weeks
