Feb. troutin

Have a goal this year to try and catch a trout in the river every month of the year.
Hit up the river today to try for Feb. and had a banner day.
Caught my personal best inland Brown Trout. 27"
Also caught a 22" Rainbow and a couple of smaller fish.
All caught stripping streamers...
Sorry for no pics guys, the son was playing with the camera and my batteries went dead..

That big'n's been evading you for a while now, Bing. Glad to see you finally outsmarted him! Congrats!

Looks to be 5-6 carcasses here. Probably for the Eagles.

Nice job on the trout Bings. I've been hearing some good reports lately on the river. Perfect flow for this time of year as well.

I tried as well to catch a trout every month of the year. Almost had it, but August killed me. 11 out of 12 not too bad though.

That's a sad sight, this winter has been very hard on the wildlife. There's going to be slim pickings this year for the deer.

I think those were dumped there by the PGC. Some had broken legs and looked like road kills.
I think they were dumped there to feed the eagles.

Nice fish. That spot is usually one of the better ones for big fish on that stretch. How crowded was it there over the weekend?

hey now, I aint fibbin'.  I caught it in the same APPROXIMATE place that bings likely caught his unpictured fish.  Thats the connection

'sides there a few cool cats on here, that I wanted to show off my fish to.  That the downsides of fishing nights, I don't always meet the cool trout guys that pound the froth of this spot for trout.

also just out of curiosity, does a trout that size take regular flies this time of year.  Or is stripping streamers that game for monsters like those?

You so are... ha.. you aint got no waders on to be fishing that spot... if they look closely, they can see the concrete.. no need to be discrete about that pic.. everyone fishes there... well not now, too long of a walk..

    Big river - streamers

smaller stream - nymphs, slow and deep.
