Wow. 24 crappie over 10" is an incredible day. 24 over 14" from Arthur is the best stringer of crappie that I have ever heard. You definitely calculated the time and place perfectly. I'm jumping for joy, landing one in that range. I hope there are some left when I hit the water! Congrats.

Timmy, I'd have taken a pic or two of all of our perch we caught, but I don't think the zoom would have been enough. I saved a bunch of them though to freeze for pike bait in a month or so. Is your dad still not an ice fisherman?

I went back to that same spot today and played tour guide daddy....my kids loved it. the numbers were there but the bigger crappie wouldnt eat. I think it was because of the overcast...oh well. I'll see what I can do about some pics.

I don't believe anything without prior knowledge of the fisherman in question. Or if no pictures are present chances are it's bullsh*t. There are a few brushpiles on arthur in deep water, but you have got to have a very good GPS.

Nice batch o' craps flychaser!
They're ALL slabs, but that 16"er is exceptional!
Way 2 go.

Ice conditions are be careful out there. Plenty of good ice most places, but plenty of shady ice some places. Just be careful.

Yeah, I was at the 528 launch last night and there is water all the way across under the bridge.  I think the salt from the road melts that ice first.  It's supposed to be in the 50's today.  It won't be long now...

Took some effort, but got the little boat out all afternoon on Saturday. Nothing like being able to see people ice fishing while you're casting lures. I'm guessing the ice fisherman caught more than I did. I'm optomistic that the launches will be open by next week so I can get the lund out. Sitting in the 12 footer does a number on my back! Feelin a lot older than 31!

We'll do Chris. Seems to me the toothies are already doing their thing, so I'll be done fishing for them for a week or so. The Lund is all ready to go. Just need that ice to melt from the launch. Found lots of new crappie spots this winter while ice fishing. Next weekend the wife is taking all the boys out to see her sister in NJ, so I'll probably be fishing most of the time while they're gone. I told her I'd spend the three days she was gone replacing the shower downstairs, but little does she know that will only take a few hours. I'll let you know when I'm heading up, once it gets closer.

I'd say you could bank on fishing porters cove by boat by the weekend for sure. Only about forty yards of open water on either side of the 528 bridge, but I wouldn't be surprised if you could fish a large chunk of that part of the lake by the weekend as well. This upcoming warm rain should do the trick.
