Stopped and played around yesreday . Lot of trout left if the couple hours I spent there is an indication. Lake is drawn down bout 4' or so. Really hope they are not going to be gone for good.

Yep, Gone for good ! Going to close to fishing for at the end of March. I was told that directly from the WCO two saturdays ago. The lake will be drawn down and the remaining trout will be relocated to other waters and the same with the remaing game fish. Rough fish will not be removed, left to die, same as what happened at Brady's Run.

Drove by Brady's Run today, looks nice and ready to go. Are they planning to stock it for the opener ?

NO ! No stocking until 1-23-2012.
It is done but I've heard two rumors on why it's not open yet.

1. EPA won't release it until all shoreline vegatation grows back
2. Contractor will not sign off on the job until the shoreline vegatation grows back.

North park won't be open either !
one WCO I talked to said they were going to put them in Brush Creek pond. Thats insane, it's less than 2 acres and it's already scheduled for a pre-season stocking today and in season in April. Don't know if it will happen but that's what 1 of the WCO's told me when I was fishing Herdford.

Thanks J. Rarely fished brady's for some reason, although it would be nice if they at least stocked the creek below the damm. Some pretty nice water there considering. Would make more sense than stockin a lake that can only be fished for less than a month ! May wander around the upper end of the lower today and see if I can fool a bass or two.

I know a hooked a 35-40 lb catfish that towed a row boat around for a couple of hours till it broke 6lb test, that was back in the Jim Cunninghan days. I had it to the boat a couple of times but this beast did what it wanted.I wonder if the Sturgen is still alive? Thats was a big time pay lake,I caught tons of big trout, and plenty of eyes and cats out of that lake,I always bought a season pass. It will be missed also pounded the bunnies with my beagles around the two lakes.

I was always told that J Cunninghan donated that lake to the state . Do you know if this is true or was it purchased for $350 K ?

Don't know when they plan on removing the fish. It's a shame they could of at least kept it open until the opener and then some, I doubt they will drain it during the spring with additional rain maybe filling it up a little more. It wouldn't have benn that hard to keep it open past March, they changed the limit there on trout to 5 for the march season, they couldve made a rule change to keep it open through April.

A friend said they were shocking it on Monday night when they were there. Crappies seemed to disappear since we were there last Thursday, coincidence... yeah probably. But I gotta wonder.

I was just there too, they were done pulling the nets today and were at the launch. I talked to them a while.  Mostly just small 2  to 3 inch bluegills was all they caught today. They said they did shock it a few days ago and caught allot of nice bass.  Not sure how many times they've pulled the net but they said today was the first day they didn't catch any Saugeyes, they had been getting a few every time they said.    Also said they have caught some crappies in the net but not as many as they expected.  Most of the fish so far have gone to Brady's run but they said they did take a small batch to North park. They haven't touched the upper lake yet.  Originally they were told the draining might start as soon as April 30th, but now they say it could be as late as mid summer, the contract hasn't gone through yet or something like that.

Sorry I didn't ask, I don't fish North Park so when they said that iy kinda went in one ear and out the other. I forgot about it being drained, I'd assume it must have been Marshall lake, but I don't know, he just said "they took a small batch to North Park".  I didn't even ask what kind of fish they were that they took there.
