Are you referring to the "rating" under your screen name?

If so. It's based totally on the number of posts you have made.

The site follows a very honest approach to angler skill level, namely that the more time you spend on an internet forum, the more knowledge about fishing you obviously have so you must be that much more skilled.

How does an angler become a "pro angler" or an "expert angler"?

An "expert" angler is one of those amateur jagoffs that knows just enough to try and lecture any and everyone. They critique your casting, fly choice, and gear while on the stream. They name drop famous streams and places, as if having the money to fish Cheeseman Canyon 6 times a year means you're more technically proficient. When you meet this guy, you want to kick him in the nads and break his rod (which, incidentally, he will claim is the best in the world and spew all the advertising BS about before you finall decide to walk away).

A "pro" covers a wide range of individuals. This is everyone from the big names that make a good living from fishing, and are generally and rightfully considered to be some of the best and most inovative out there, down to part time bait shop workers and on-line fishing blog authors. Anyone that has ever gotten something for fishing free, or even at manufacturer cost, can tenuously call themself a "pro".

The interesting thing is that the more expert or more pro you ACTUALLY get, the more humble the person will probably be.

And yes, you A-holes, I realize my skill level is "expert" lol

It has something to do with their sucker to trout catch ratio.

Also go to the hunting forums and enter the discussion about antler restriction/herd reduction. Oh, and be sure to offer your opinion about the  the PA Game Comm.

I don't give a crap if anybody listens to me or not.
