Loyalhanna Lake

Has anyone on here ever ice fished Loyalhanna Lake? Been thinking of trying it out.

    It is a Corps of Engineer lake, which can make ice fishing dangerous because lake levels fluctuate. I also haven't heard many good things about the fishing there on soft water, so not sure it would be worth the risk.

    i've hit this lake in the summer. i wasn't impressed. maybe the hard water would be better. but with all the corps lakes it's more than likely a death sentence to venture out on. don't want to drill a hole and have 10' of open air before you hit water. that happened to my old neighbor on yough dam. no fish is worth the chance.

    i agree. i wouldnt be too happy if i drilled a hole and all the came out was air, id be off that ice as fast as i could walk.
