meh. i think i'll not get my hopes up til the ice is near gone. in that magical time between ice fishing and the bane of my existence, season opener for trout. i hear so many good things about that time of year and walleye. so i'm gonna give it a go this year.

i try to compensate for wasting so much time working by getting up early on the weekends. i may only get in 4 hours a week but other than hanging with the wife it's the only part of life that doesn't suck until the following winter.

thats cool. i did go out to greenlick today.there was two guys fishing down the shallow end.they were after pan fish getting a few keepers. the ice is thicker down there 6-8 inches, with some water on top.

now that i can deal with. 6-8 is more of my thing. 4-5 i'll go on at first ice but once it gets thicker up here 4-5 kinda wigs me out a little. it purely a mental thing. maybe i'll head down that way today.

went to donegal yesterday. i got three gills and had one hit on a mini. (which i finally found) there were a few guys out there but i didn't see if anyone was catching or getting skunked. i'm thinking about going down to bridgeport dam. when last i was in bridgeport i noticed that across from the the sportsmans club a couple of crazy dudes were fishing on the creek. within 10' of open flowing water. you gotta wonder what the thought process of guys like that could be.

If you guys are having trouble finding minnows. Try B&M outside of Everson.
