Greenlick is approx. 100 acres and has a variety of fish. I've caught many species of fish there to include pike/muskie, trout, eyes and several nice cats one being a flathead that weighed in at 27 pound. I put that critter back in after having it weighed and photo'd. A lot of small carp(3-7 pound) with a couple going 15 pound. Most eyes caught in early spring soon after ice-out. The fingers and toes don't tolerate the cold well these days so I don't do the hard water stuff. Someone above mentioned "why not trout". I for one hope they never do because it would then receive entirely tooooo much pressure and ruin fishing for the other species.

wow thats a pretty nice cat!  you still have the pics of em?   i was the one who mentioned the trout stocking, and thinking about what you said your absolutely right. theres plenty of stocked places to fish for em as it is. i personally have never caught a muskie before, im sure its a fighting experience though.

One of the reasons for not stocking trout, was so that the lake could stay open for fishing all year, instead of closing it for a period in the Spring, which happens to be when most people get "cabin fever" & want to go for crappie. sam

went to greenlick, was by the dam in 22-33 feet.got into some perch 5-9 inches.moved to a inlet on the far rt side.found a nice hole 5-22 feet deep.marked some fish so poped some hole but no  hits.think about going tomarrow and try across from the boat dock.

The two Muskie I caught there were small 32 and 34 inch but they were a pleasant surprise. The flathead was caught a few years back and I do have pix but don't know where. Had the critter measured and weighed, photographed and released. Even got a trophy fish award from the state. Caught him on 8# test line with a night crawler while fishing for bass.

oddly enough the giant channel cat i caught there hit a red worm. i was carp fishing, as usual, i no sooner set my rod down and picked up the other when the rod i set down went for the water. i didn't get an official weight on it but it was just under 30".

by chance, does anyone know what the roads are like down there in the low lands?

them cats give a pretty good fight lol.   just watched the weather they are calling for 2 more inches of snow by tomorrow.  guess i should of waited to plow the driveway.  i called nicklows bait shop today in addison, the guy said he heard there was 18 inches of ice on parts of highpoint.....and alot of snow.   maybe ill take the tractor with the plow when i go next time!

i was out on green lick yesterday. there is snow but not very much. the wind is taking care of a lot of it. donegal however has 17" to 20" of snow on it. which is pretty much the same as what will be on any lake up here.
so i went to both places and only got one bite and that was at donegal. i couldn't get any minnows so i was very limited on what i was using. hope today is better.

sheesh! i don't think i'll be going that far for minnows. rte 40 is almost an hour away. i guess i'll try to catch some dace out of the creek here. if the natives will let me that is. last time i tried to get dace i ended up with 3 natives and no dace. i even tried not to hook the trout but they were a bit too fast.
