greenlick / donegal

does anyone happen to know the conditions of the ice at Greenlick or Donegal? haven't been able to make a trip out there yet and was wondering if its worth my time?
thanks!

greenlick WAS frozen over till that warm up. there was only 3" last time i was there. i saw too much open water there monday on my way past.
donegal was fishable before x mas. i haven't been back out since. i figured if acme had water all around the edge than donegal would be worse as there was less ice than acme when i was fishing it. i would think that by the end of the week it would be safer.

Responding to the picture of boats tied up at Donegal: thought they had to be removed by Nov 1st? I recall about 10 years ago I was hospitalized and could not retrieve my boat until later in Nov. and received a citation for having it there.

Also for anyone looking to purchase ice fishing equipment, don't bother going to greensburg gander mtn until next week. went up this evening and they were pretty much sold out of everything. the lady told me they wouldnt have much until then.

if you want virtually the same ice fishin gear you'll get at gander for a fraction of the price, try B&G bait in normalville. ridiculously cheaper than gander. plus it's the only 24hr a day bait shop i've ever heard of.

sounds good!  where is it at in normalville? if i remember right  its on 711 after you crest the top of the hill before the gas station, i might be wrong though.

on 711 at the top of the hill on the left. gary has put out a big sign now so you can't miss it. you might have to do some diggin around for stuff because it's not all in the same place. small pre-tied jigs are on the left wall, rods, augers and more jigs and flies are in the middle. more trout oriented jigs and baits are on the center shelves for some reason mixed with deep fried peanuts.

i can't justify buying rods anywhere else. i bought a 1 piece med hvy ugly stick there over the summer for $20. i was looking at the same one at gander for $50.

i should mention that it's not the biggest selection. though he seems to be getting more stuff in since the ice is stickin around. so what he doesn't have now might be on it's way soon.
i'd just ask. BTW sometimes the door is locked. knock first, depending on the time of day gary can be cranky about ringing the buzzer if someone is in the shop already and you don't knock. been running it 24hrs a day for too long.
if you're buying minnows pray gary's wife is there you'll get 3 times what you pay for.
