The X-Raps are good, haven't tried the flats. I've never had a bill break. I have 2 sizes, the 8 and 10's. I've found them to be most effective in water that is 48-52 degrees but that is common with bass and jerkbaits.

x-raps worked great for me in creeks in erie for spring smallmout steelhead and brown trout and also worked well for walleye in pymie and the shenango river.

the reviews that i read said that the lip breakage was on the flat raps,....sorry. i know that when i started using size 11 rapalas, they were make in norway. production then went to ireland and now they are assembled in estonia. after production moved to ireland, i began to notice a lot more lip breakage on the floating originals. glad you guys are not seeing that on the x-raps. i think i will pick up another half dozen. i appreciate the input.

I Love the x-raps Rich As stated ghost seems to be a "magic" color. I like to use it as both a straight"reel" in lure,as well as a twitch and see reactionary type. I've replaced more lures from snags than I have lip breakage, and still have a # 4ghost w/out lip that I use that catches feesh!!!! Happy New Year my Friend, Andy

I've used the X-Rap series on a local lake and did OK for Pike with them...untill the straw hats moved in and hit the lake hard. I've also used the X-Rap "Shad" series on another local lake and did well on smallmouth along a boulder lined shore. If I recall it was the XRS-8 in an olive or emerald color. As for quality of the lures...never had any problem with Rapal stuff, except for a "Tail Dancer" that got demolished by a big Blue down in the Potomac!
