What's your favorite brand, and pound test for the mainline?
Tippet?
I do a lot of winter fishing, well not a lot, but i go when i have off, even if the conditions are bad! Is there a specific brand like Siglon that tends not to build up ice as bad?

I was going to get some "expensive" line after I learn a bit casting with cheap stuff. Dicks had a clearance on #30 backing for $5.

    I'm using 12 pound Siglon currently but for the first year I had some old Berkley XT solar line laying around and it worked fine. At the end of the Siglon I attached about 3 feet of 10 pound fluro then the smallest swivel I could find with a couple of feet of 4, 6 or 8 pound fluro tippet depending on water conditions.

    My fluro tippet brand is whatever is on the leader spools but I know I have a couple different brands and need to decide on one and stick with it. One is Vanish and most people hate it but until temperatures reach freezing it hasn't worked to bad for me.

    12lb.Siglon for the main,6lb.Gamma,was my choice,not making it anymore,back to Drennon
