Let is snow!!!

Just in case you were not aware of the weather here in Erie County, PA we got a bunch of snow over the last two days.  If you are coming up to fish be very careful on the roads.  Also, daytime temps are in the 20's with winds in the 10 to 20 mph range with gusts to 30.

Good luck if you come up....

    Sounds like a good time!

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

In Southern Erie County, we have at least 18" and maybe more.  It is hard to tell since the wind is blowing it around quite a bit.  I have a couple of drifts in my yard that above my waist.

I would could believe the creeks are slushing up.  With the snow and temp's below freezing, that means slush....  It also means you need to be extra careful if you are out fishing.  Hypothermia and frost bite can happen before you know it so be careful.

I walked to work this morning after spending 2 hours cleaning out my driveway and 3 of my neighbors and found the roads to be snow covered and slick.  Be careful if you are out today.

It is still coming down, windy and generally nasty outside.  On the way to my office this morning I passed some EMT's working on a young woman who appeared to have fallen.  I found out a little later she slipped on some ice and ended up with a compound fracture of her lower leg.  So even if you are walking around, be careful...

Most open areas around here (Corry) have snow drifted over waist high. I tried to hunt for awhile this afternoon...should've grabbed the snowshoes...almost had a coronary highstepping through the woods.

Tonight...6-10, tomorrow day...4-8, and finally Tuesday night....2-4. Looks like we can hang the rods up with a consistent temp in the mid to low 20's. Elk is already slushing up quick with a lot of edge ice. See you in the spring.....

I just got in from blowing out the driveway for the 2nd time today.  Oh yea, I shoveled it out twice in between....  Just got too tired to do it for the third time.  Blew out two neighbor's drives as well....  We have snow drifts at least 4 feet and even more in places.   Winter is definitely here.

As for hunting....  I think the gun is going back in the cabinet until next year.  Just don't see myself even attempting getting into the woods with this much snow.  That is a recipe for disaster.  I tried hunting in waist deep snow once with snowshoes.  **** near broke my neck and leg.  I swore I would never do that again.

Hope everyone is home and safe tonight.  It is not fit for man nor beast out there right now.

I'm ready for the hard water season to begin. Just have to finish the new sled for the hut and I'm ready. Although last year my best day fishing was spent riding ice bergs down the creek.

everybody complains about the crowds when its warm then complain about making the trip when it snows. these are perfect conditions, this is steelhead season. theres many times when it takes me 4 or 5 hours to make the 2.5 hour drive and im loven it the whole way knowing when i get there i will have a bunch of lunker steelhead waiting for because its to snowy or to cold for mostly everbody else. WWWWHHHAAA. i will be up nxt weekend. no matter if younz get 3 inches or 3 feet.
