DB - I have my spot for browns there too. Usually have good luck on them in November right through year end.
My problem is I don't live close enough to make a run on whim - 3.5 hrs one way.
Other problem is that when I am usually up at the SR the OZ is blown out.
I like to fish that river at 7,000 cfs, over 10,000, is tough going.
Will make a point to let you know an hopefully the flows are good.
One thing about fishing the Big O in winter - better dress really warm because those winds coming off the lake are a deep-freeze wind tunnel.
Gearing up to kill me some Bambi come Monday Morning here in Pa.
Took a couple of shots with my trusty ole Marlin 35 lever rifle at 100 yds- right on the money.
But I also bought myself an early Xmas present - a Savage 223 rifle with the heavy bull barrel and Accutrigger, and popped a Leupold 3x9 40mm scope on top.. (This will be my new toy for Yotes and other pesky critters, although I am sure it will knock a deer down no problem with a head or neck shot.)
I took it out to the local gunrange in the woods near my house this afternoon to sight it in anticipation for a night of calling dogs. It was bulls-ear catnip at 100 yds.
So I put up some paper at 250 yds:
Not bad for no sandbags- first shot was low & left - I flinched. The next three I was very happy with - especially considering the wind conditions - but at 3200 fps it don't matter too much.. Not bad for a 55grain bullet :)

Good luck to any Pa guys heading out for deer on Monday.
