This has been the topic of much debate. I think it's an Atlantic. Jim caught 2 during the course of the trip. Actually, I think it was 3 but he'll have to explain. There were more Atlantics around than ever. We saw at least one every day. Check out this one. Some of the guys on this board know this guy

I'd bet its a young hen atlantic, but wouldn't know for sure unless you could really examine the mouth of the fish. Wow as I looked back...those spots are tell-tale...black with the light blue/white halo around them... Yep, 'Ol Egg-Sac caught some nice fish....is that guy still around?

I'm going with an atlantic also. Like Shutupnfish, I'm going with the spots. The thing that throws me more than tail shape or head, however, is that Jim said it didn't fight well. Any Atlantic I've ever caught fought like a beast, with a good bit of that in the air.

this guys go out in the middle of the creek and make a big ace of them self. the shore fishmen can't cast there lines out with out catch them ;if you do they cut your line. nice guys you get yours next year. that 18 mile creek ace holes. see you next year i hope. i have a dream for you [dream on]

The picture of Egg Sac is from October of this year. I didn't take it. It's on the Orleans Outdoor website.
MetalCranium, I'll keep ya in mind. Won't be until next fall though.
Wish, that fish was holding in ripping current. That's why I think it didn't fight as well. NOTHING we caught there fought much. When you hooked a fish, it bolted downstream with the current. As soon as you got it turned around, the game was over.
Peacy, my guess is that you were there in October. I went once in October. NEVER again.

Thanks guys. Here's another odd looking fish, I really think this one is a brown but no way of telling for sure now. I wish I would have known how to check the tooth patches before we went up there.  The other fish above I actually caught two times. Thursday afternoon, then the very first drift about 50 yards below there on Friday morning I caught what I'm sure was the same fish. Flashpants, I actually hooked plenty of steelhead that fought, that long skinny fish kicked my butt. Lots of other logs though. And by the way, your fish numbers on your report were way off. I think I caught that many myself dude. Peacymike, I'll buy you a pair of boots for Christmas or maybe Ironhed can make you a pair out of flashpants old moldy saimen.

That looks like an Atlantic to me.
It has that "hourglass"-shaped snout.
I only ever caught one, at the Oak, and it got slit for it's eggs. They worked very well. The fish went to a buddy of mine.

Thats a salmon. Not sure about Atlantics, but if you can pick it up by the tail,its a salmon. For some reason the tail locks open on a salmon but doesn't on a trout. I also think the caudal fin is much more pronounced on a salmon then a trout...WF

We caught all Salmonids. Actually, we saw guys perch fishing in the lower river.
I got "bit off" one day. Either one heck of a set of salmon teeth or a pike. There were some pike around.
