ok..how about this question...

i been hunting a nice high, wide 8...reguardless..i heard a rumor someone hit it saturday evening...arrow was found 150 yrds away with no evidence of a pass through...badly damaged broadhead..blood trail ended and was told they looked most of the day sunday and no deer was found...my question is this...lets say it was a bone shot or deer was just hurt and lived through this...would the injury affect his rut?

    Yes.

Unless he got really really really lucky, he is probably laying dead in a tree top somewhere too thick to walk.

On the other hand, if he was a good deer, he is chasing smelly doe butt in deer heaven.  So his rut might be the best ever.

Look for vultures, listen for coyotes.  Find the closest thicket.

I have an eight on my wall that I hit high with no pass through and found the arrow 80 yards away. This was on the fifth week of archery and he was chasing a doe. I killed him late the first day of rifle while he was chasing a doe and only lost half a loin from the almost completely healed wound.

if just the broad head had blood on it and the broadhead was bent up. it was a shot rite to the shoulder bone. i have done the same thing more than once. if that is the case he will be chasing does but probably in a different area. i hit a BIG 8 i was after 2 years ago. i thought it was a perfect shot at 12 yds. using rage 3 blade buckets of blood for 400 or 500 yds. continued to follow blood the next day and then lost it. looked for this deer for weeks. this was the first week of archery. my buddy killed him the 2nd week of rifle about 3 miles from where the deer lived. it came busten out chasing does all around a field like nothing was wrong. after my buddy got him he went over and looked and the deer had a huge gash down almost the whole length of his neck about 3" wide. i was covered with blood looking for that deer it bled so much. he was rutten like nothen happened but he did totally leave the area.

Could have been hit ne where, but like akitadog said sounds like it might be a shoulder bone shot and might be fine.
