This happens a lot more than you think, also by a lot of people who qualify themselves as "sportsmen".

poachers. they are criminals but locals usually protect them from being found. most common reason for doing it they say they are only trying to feed their families.

Meanwhile, they own 2 or three souped up vehicles and big screen TV's the size of a wall.

Probably a roadkill buck with a decent rack. Oddly enough, headless deer this time of year aren't that rare. If it's a deer with a nice set of antlers, someone saws its head off. People must do that then claim to have shot it?

Nearly all WCOs are covering at least 350 square miles. Many of us are covering a lot more area than that with some covering over 700 square miles. Even though we are working a lot night patrol it is often almost impossible to pick the right area to work on any given night.

The assistance of the public, by reporting dead deer, night shooting and any other relevant information can really make a huge difference in our ability to catch the poachers involved in such deeds. Please work with the WCOs to bring these poachers and thieves to justice by calling and reporting illegal activities. If it you don’t think you have much of anything to add to the investigation it could be just the tid-bit that was missing from what the WCO needed to have a solid suspect or even make an arrest.

Saw roadkill with nice rack on 79N near Cranberry exit.
Someone probably got it by now.

Too many times the PGC was informed about a roadkill deer and acted like you were inconveniencing them. H*ll they don't even pick them up anymore!

i don't want WCO's to waste their time picking up dead deer.  that should be done by PENNDOT.  they should only get involved if it looks like a poaching incident.

Most I have experienced are co**y and useless when it comes to representing the commissions.Seems like every time I had a question or problem I had to contact law enforcement in Harrisburgh. Most think they are God and I would never consider being a part of that group until changes are made with the commission. There are a few that seem ok but a very small amount. Its funny how a small town up north could hate them so bad that they(deputy) would actually have to sleep with one eye open.

Many districts don’t have any deputies. For the districts that do have deputies those couple deputies they might have are usually holding down a full time job somewhere so they have the money needed to go out and donate a few hours here and there to the Game Commission law enforcement program.

My deputies can usually only get out to work for the Game Commission a few hours on the weekends. That is how it works in many other districts too.

But that aside, it still comes down to the public reporting when they learn of violations or the neither the WCO or the deputies will know there is even anything to investigate in an area.

I,m not angry, simply expressing my opinion. If you think I'm alone on this subject you need to pull your head out of your ***. Sportsman are fed up with the ways of the PGC as they are becoming an embarrassment to the state. The United Sportsmans have had enough and filed suit on them. The PGC will try and flex their muscles and pour tons of dollars in the suit to try and cover up their issues. No wonder they always cry broke.

So the reason the PGC is underfunded for the ammount of land they need to patrol is because of the massive ammounts of money they spend to cover up lawsuits filed against them? Want to throw some aliens into that conspiracy theory?

The PGC is a mess and yes dollars spent on their stupidity is "one" reason they are in the shape they are in.

Well they did shut down so maybe outdoor is an escapee that got lost in the mix...maybe we should report him?
