wayne c- They own the rights, but does that money go to the PFBC IF they drill, or does it go into the general fund?

Wasnt talking about PFBC. I was talking about PA Game commission. Eyes&gills spoke of both. I dont imagine fish & boat would own significant amounts of land & mineral rights by comparison, and their asking for more funding because they actually need it, is a bit more appropriate i believe.

And as to the question, the money pgc gets....pgc gets. Doesnt go to state general fund.

And for them to still seek a fee increase and also speak out in support of alternate funding such as derived from a statewide tax, especially when they are supposed to be a hunter funded "independent" agency, is utterly and completely absurd.

As if 2 rods isn't enough lets throw 3. Isn't it hard enough to watch 2 rods, and now they may allow 3? Granted they could make it a permit/stamp and charge 3-5 for it and take the money to fix the broken infrastructure in the state IE Dam(s) and what not but honestly... I think it would intice people to take more then the daily limit and just cause a big issue espically the first month or so of trout season.

I can see this rule apply to those who enjoy fishing for carp & cat, BUT, otherwise i think it's harmful to the sport. I mean we all know what it's like on a popular hole on a popular stream on opening day (with all the knuckleheads). Think about this now with those same knuckleheads tossin 3 lines in that hole instead of just there 2. One word & one word only-INSANE!!!

for a river rat like myself, this is welcome as I always use 3 anyways...1 w/ cat/carp bait, 1 w/ live bait (preferably creek chub), and the other working a lure

the shorelines if fish from have tons of space so that is not an issue

least now i don't have to be on lookout for the PBFC

yeah, 3 rods on the river will be a lot of fun (and can get crazy at the same time I would imagine). I switch over to carp fishing in early June once people clean out the stocked trout. I c&r everything and just like Marklu said, just gives you the chance to have an extra bait in the water

If I am not catching fish with 2 rods what is the point in not catching them with 3

If I am catching fish with 2 rods the I am too busy to use 3

Keep an eye out till Dec 31st or the PFBC will be ringing their cash register at your expense. New rule doesn't take effect till Jan 1, 2012.

3 rods is good for river fishing.3 differnt baits to fish for 3 differnt fish.i really dont think it gonna make things too crazy.i advoid lakes in trout season any how...some people are dangerous with just 1 rod, don't think they will be able to run 3 rods.

3 rods not a big deal if the regulation is changed back to what it was...3 rods where legal in PA I am looking at a 1978 regulations book

Actually some states have no limit on the amount of rods you can use,Kentucky is one I'm pretty sure. Then there's Minnesota that has a one rod limit and that is Muskie,Walleye and Smallmouth Paradise.

It's like that in a number of places. Pennsylvania has some of the most stringent rules when it comes to fishing (nothing like New York, though, where you basically need to carry the regulation book with you to research the rules on each body of water you fish). There is no limit on the number of rods you can fish with in Kentucky, as you mentioned. In West Virginia there's no limit on the number of rods you use either unless you're fishing in a stocked trout impoundment from January-May.
