just not on a deer yet, passed a decent 8 yesterday morning, had him at 7 yards. roughly a 14inch spread but chunky horns with some good main beams maybe around 17 inches, g2's 6 inches, the brow tines were roughly 4 to 5 and the other points were about 4(g3
s), a really pretty deer, as it walked away from me it got bigger lol. but i really want a wide 8 that i have on my camera...

This morning went back in high hopes was nice and calm and wet, nice sneaking weather. got to the stand at 630, around 7 a small buck sneaked by, 815 had 3 does, 838 am is when i noticed a "grey squirrel" about 70 yards away..but to my dismay it was moving fast and quickly was 50,40,30, 20, 15 yards behind me. went it was moving closer i noitced it was a coyote. i set up on a ridge line about 15 yards from the edge and he was running the edge, i turned in my stand sitting down, he stopped perfectly behind a tree to draw back on, as he started back i kissed at him and he stopped on a dime let my arrow fly he spun and bit at himself, barked once crashed over the hill. Seconds later, heard the death barks and moans and howls at the end...i was pretty excited to kill one, i hate those things so bad and i try to "hunt" them with never luck.




went 30 pounds on the scale, a male. they are longer then i thought, oh, this is my first one too. two years ago i shot a female fox there from that same stand. got that one on video too. crazy place that area.

My buddy been seeing alot of coyotes while hunting.He ask the PGC if he could shoot one with a pistol in bow season they told him no it was against the law.Is this true?

there was an entire thread on this stuff last year and it turned into a huge argument... everyone thought they knew and no one could interpret anything without someone sayin they're completely wrong.  Stick with shooting stuff in rifle season just to be safe haha.

PS: nice dog bull lifter, that's a trophy to be proud of.  my dad got one a few years ago when we were hunting the first weekend of rifle season and got it mounted hanging dead just to show off how long they are.

no closed season on coyotes. you can shoot a coyote with a furtakers or a valid deer tag during deer season. now you are allowed to carry a pistol while bow hunting so i would think shooting the coyote is perfectly legal.

The answer is no, you cannot shoot a coyote with a pistol while archery hunting.  Even if you are legally carrying by permit.

This has been discussed over and over many places and turns into quite a discussion most of the time.  The one clear answer from those that matter, the PGC, is no. 

not for nothin Bull, but just curious as to how heavy of a blood trail he left for you to follow?

If I don't have a furtakers license and I have filled my buck tag in archery season and do not havea doe tag.....can I shoot a coyote during the fall turkey season...or any small game season for that matter?
