One of my least favorite places to fish on the soft water.

We used to catch some Northerns in there, huge Bass, perch and Bluegills.Haven't fished it for at least 10 years. I wanted to hit it this year just for the Bluegills but never made it.Would it be too hard to fish in the summer for gills?

It's probably one of the best lakes for bass imo in the state espically if you're going for size... I saw a little girl pull out what honestly I think was atleast 6.5-7lb... And there are some nice pike in there and large crappie, and there are big gills seen and caught some best time to go is right after the ice thaws off, probably right around opening day of trout if the eairly spring/late winter is warm enough, and if we have a wacky enough summer and the gills spawn a few times you'll get some hogs..
