Probably easier to catch fishing rods out of there than fish. I live 5 miles away and have a real bad streak of luck there.Doesn't matter if I fish from shore or my boat.Fish Communism website says there's lots of big fish in there.

Wait til next year when people are allowed to use 3 rods in open water, the rod finding will be even better. btw I saw 5 rods going in this past ice season & 1 cell phone. Happened pretty quick. sam

Did they pass that 3 rod rule.I heard it may not come to vote till after the first of the year.If it does pass then ,it probably won't go into affect till the following year.

It was reported in the recent issue of Penn. Outdoor News that Comm. Len Lichvar of Somerset county got preliminary approval of that rule at the recent PFC meeting. No word yet when it will be enacted, but usualy when a bill gets prelim. approval it goes through. sam

Go to "you tube" search "ice fishing Greenlick"that was the first time ice fishing for them & also the first time they went to Greenlick, didn't even know what was in there. I was talking to a relative of one of the guys while I was at Twin lakes Sun. or Mon. He verified the story. Not bad for a Dead Sea. sam

Hopefully dredge out the end where the creek comes in.Years ago before it got filled with mud we uced to catch just about everything down there. The weeds down that way are getting thick also.Never know with the fish communism.

Sam do you fish from a boat at Greenlick? For me that's the only way to fish there. They seem to move often that's why I usually start out trolling till we get some fish or mark a lot

When I asked the PFC bioligist about that,he told me that they are required to let a certain amount of water out every day so as not to change the flow downstream. When we don't get enough rain & the amount of water going in slows down, the lake naturaly gets lower. He did not say if there is a lower limit on the lake level. A couple of years ago the lake got so low you could almost drive around the shore line. Tigercat: When the lake was low,I asked them about dredging then, since they could get equipment down without a lot of trouble, his answer was that they do not have the money to dredge any of these lakes that are silting in,such as Greenlick & Mammoth. You know how them Communists are.lol sam

thanks sam,but i realy believe they are doing a weed draw down because of how fast it went down the shore line is down 8 or+ feet in aweek ? them commies lol.and you could easy drive around on shore line now the boat docks are out of water.

Got them all from shore on the opposite side of the launch, close to the breast right before the woods start.

thanks for info, but i'm done fishing there till spring now, don't like trying to put a boat in like that and that drawdown is awful.i did fish there in that spot one day 2 wks. ago only caught one small gill there released him.

I was casting to the right ,it's deeper water.Caught them on orange jigs with white grub bodies. To the left there's a hump that is real shallow. Just off the right side is where I found them. Was just barely dragging the jig across the bottom, real slow.

how about instead of drawing the lakes down i'd like to see more dredging to make the lakes deeper, the deeper the water the less weeds you'll have. i cant see how dredging a lake the size of greenlick/mammoth/twin lakes could be that expensive.

Is the lake drawn down 8 vertical feet or are 8 feet of shoreline showing? I drove past there last Sunday and it looked to be down maybe a foot or two in vertical feet.

Did anyone who was there notice if there were any walnuts on the walnut trees inside the park. There are several trees on the left side of the road right after the first area where you can pull over after crossing the creek entering the lake. There may be more I'm not aware of also. All the trees up here near Somerset had no nuts thus year.

Don't know which video you saw , but the one that I did showed the musky being pulled out of the hole. Def. a tiger, which don't reproduce, but the PFC.told me that they weren't stocked by them.I think that someone caught them elsewhere, maybe Bridgeport Dam, then transported them. I also recognise the spot where they were fishing,if you look behind them you can see the breast of the dam & the garage & the cement overflow to the left of the dam.But then again I guess you just don't know what them Communist will do next. lol btw I was there this even., got a couple of small bass & watched a guy catch a bass about 3#,we were throwing sticks. Also I accidently snagged a bluegill that was about 3/4 of an inch long. Talked to a guy that was pulling a boat out & he said he caught a bunch of nice gills. sam
