chicken..

not sure what the fine would be for just hunting over bait ..

but with the new penalties including some with jail time.. I sure would not want to be caught with a dead deer killed by a baited spot... that could easily be called an illegally killed deer.... and I believe that's now a $1,000.. plus possible jail time... plus restitution cost of the deer... plus fine for hunting over bait... and finally court costs...

sure isn't worth the risk in my book....

Nope not worth the chance.I was just worried about the stump because they still look black.I don't want to get in any trouble.

Those stumps will hold trace minerals for many months after you quit putting it out. Your odds of a WCO happening on that particular stump are remote unless other people know about it and turn you in but you would have no defense if that happened and you got caught hunting over it. Their not that great this time of year anyway. You are better off hunting the feed.

Not true if it's around here.. our local WCO has dozens of spots he is watching this year.. just like every year... it appears guys that like to break the baiting rules do it time and time again, at least they have in the past.

I hear the results from customers in the store about getting caught hunting over bait every year, we sell the 50lb salt blocks and field corn for wildlife feeding year round... because of all the camps in the area we sell tons of both...

I have never asked WCO Hartless but I'll bet it's one of his more issued citations... and I can hear the cries coming this year with the penalties for breaking the rules...

Off to work.. my crossbow is coming today !!!!!!
